Here is one of my recent acquisitions, though I purchased it with both a 1.1 and a 1.5 and I have a 1.5 installed in it now. I'm using a highlighter mix and it is my highlighter pen.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

@amberleadavis

1.5 How does that work as a highlighter? I bought a yellow Preppy and was thinking of trying to grind it to a stub or stub italic for highlighting. I bought some Pelikan ink that looks suitable for highlighting. Is this a Jinhao?

Just got this Pelikan 140 with a 14k nib marked "S". Not sure what this nib was really intended for, but it has a very broad flat writing surface, which produces a fat wet line, as you can see in the photos. You can also write a nice fine/medium line by holding the pen upright. Like so many Pelikan and other German nibs from that era, the nib is also soft - not exactly flexible but nice and bouncy and responsive.

From a page on the Pelikan Perch website, it seems that this is either an "SB" or an "SBB" - most likely the latter. The "S" stands for Sheiben which refers to the flat, almost sliced off writing surface ("disk top" or "flat top"). It is a very interesting nib.

The only problem with this pen is that it has the transparent nib collar, which is cracked and stuck in the section. However, the nib and feed pull out anyway if needed, and it works just fine.

That IS a very interesting nib!  I've never seen anything like it -- it appears to be a cross between a zoom nib and a fude nib in operation....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Yes, it is similar to the zoom and fude - except there is no gradation from broad to fine. Just the flat broad surface and the fine writing at the tip. Still not sure if there was some special intended purpose for this grind!

Wow, these are amazing nibs for Parker 45 and 51!  Question: what are you referring to when you call them "Newhaven nibs"?

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
