Left-Handed Bock Nib

duende

Recommended Posts

I just placed an order for a left-handed medium bock nib from Beaufort Ink. Do any of you lefties have experience with them? Would love to hear your thoughts. I'm concerned that it'll be a smear party, but I guess we'll see. I know that the Princess of Wessex has one, but I'm afraid I don't have her contact info handy to ask her. By the way, Beaufort Ink is located in Inverness-Shire, so I love the fact that I'm getting a nib from the shire.

I didn't know Bock made a left handed nib. A right foot oblique?

She told me she's very pleased with it, and that it's so nice she's going a sort out a knighthood for me. ;) I hope you like yours too Hector.

To be honest, I don't know what kind of sorcery makes this nib left handed, particularly for someone who is an over-under writer who turns the page at different angles depending on the phase of the moon and the position of the stars. But I'm sure those German elves have worked their engineering magic and won't let me down.

A nib approved by princesses and sold by knights (in-waiting) from the shire? I can't wait.

I'm waiting on news about the flex nib that you're secretly forging. Hope this makes it to market (though my wallet thinks otherwise).

You clearly have a good nose for sniffing out information Hector. Where did you hear that? Or am I going senile - perhaps I posted it elsewhere on FPN.

Anyway, yes, you're right - we're working on a full flex nib that will fit into lots of pens. I confess we've taken our eyes off the ball a little of late though, because most of our attention recently has be given to developing a range of bottled inks that are going to hit the streets in two or three weeks time. So once they are launched and in the market place, we'll get back to the flex nib thing.

Watch this space (but buy some of our ink in the meantime - we need to pay for the nib R&D) ;)

I forgot to mention that I'm a wizard apprentice and have gained the ability to decipher secret information from blog posts.

Glad to hear the full flex nib project is still ongoing. This could definitely fill a gap in the modern flex nib market, which is virtually non-existent.

In the meantime, I'll keep an eye out for your ink offerings. They might come in handy to jot down a few more spells.
