Accidentally Tattooed Myself!

NewPenMan

Recommended Posts

I was adjusting my sitting position, had an uncapped pilot with a fine nib, and pwink! I now have a dot of Noodlers Bad Belted Kingfisher just under my skin. I love the color; have no desired for a permanent ink dot.

I scrubbed the daylights out of the spot, neither that nor squeezing got the ink out.

Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi NewPenMan,

Do nothing and forget it... in a few weeks, it'll be gone. When I was a kid, I was stirring a jar of bright lime green enamel model paint with a wooden coffee stirring stick.

Something distracted me, (probably either a cute girl or a Coupe De Ville... or a cute girl in a Coupe De Ville), and the stick snapped and drove a long splinter of paint covered wood deep into my left thumb.

I experienced the same thing you're experiencing now... I, too, thought I was scarred for life; but after around 2-3 weeks, my body's regeneration of new cells, replaced my tattooed thumb with a brand new, clean thumb. :o.

:D

Agreed, theres quite a good chance that it will go away in some weeks.

Personally trying to kill some flying bug, I managed to poke my finger on a Leonardt 300 dipped in Diamine registrars. Stung quite nicely...

Now 500 V insulation multimeter. That left two brown spots.

I did this before with one of those needle point disposable pens, I forget which one it was. Whoops!!! The spot is gone now. I'm not sure when it disappeared but it's certainly not there anymore. Just watch out for infection.

Unlike tatoo inks, fountain pen inks, in my experience, are water soluble.

Through high school and college, I carried a fountain pen in my back pocket. In this way, I destroyed most of them. I stained Mom's sofa. I stained many pairs of Fruit-Of-The-Loom. I stained my girlfriend's Spanish saddle. I made a crescent tattoo, in blue, on my right buttock. The tattoo remained after first-aid. The pain was gone in a couple of days.

Two months later, my new girlfriend inquired about the mark. The location was not readily visible to me. Two years later, I mentioned the mark, as one of several identification marks, to a US Navy Surgeon. He was unable to locate it, so it did not appear in my records.

If you are in a hurry, remove it with an apple core cutter, or tell your doctor.

Actually, reading through this thread and everyone else's similar experiences... I have to ask... how do they get tattoos to stay?!

I have two dots from Montblanc Permanent Blue. One on the palm of my left hand and one just under the finger nail of my left hand's middle finger. They both have been there for just over two years. They have faded quite a bit, but I can still see them.

Hi Tasmith,

Well, I guess MB wasn't kidding when they labelled it "Permanent"... and if anyone ever asks you, how effective are MB Permanent inks... you can just show them your middle finger.

How you show it to them is entirely up to you.

Tattoo ink is an insoluble pigment made from powdered ABS plastic :)
