Blind Cap For A Dunn Eyedropper

Recommended Posts

I recently scavenged myself a Dunn eyedropper with a rather nice nib. It would probably be functional, but the blind cap (which were characteristically red) is missing. I call upon the the collective wisdom of the network to suggest a source for a replacement piece - not necessarily the right piece, either - or give it up and salvage the nib?

I await your suggestions.

Believe there is more than one size. Red ends were prone to decompose.

Wadding up a piece of aluminum foil and forcing it into the barrel is about up to my skill level.

Look for a cheap tool shop. Screwdrivers often have translucent red plastic handles. This is a good source of material that is easy to turn on the lathe.

Lathe? What is this lathe you speak of?

Actually, I remember a girl in art school who had a very nasty run-in with one of the lathes in the wood shop...it ended a promising career in classical guitar. Just saying.

A good Monarch 10E is among my favorite tools. I do like an automated screw machine for production runs though.
