Parker 45 Yellow

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I recently bought a yellow colored Parker 45 fountain pen.

I never saw a yellow one before. Do you know more about it? Is it a common colour? Are there many outside?

Sorry for the bad photo, it's from the seller. Pen is still in the mail.

Regards,

daffie

Nice looking pen. I don't have any of the so-called "happy" colors (mine are black, dark blue and burgundy/red). I'm not a fan of yellow pens particularly (I have a couple of Arnolds) but I like yours (and I like 45s in general).

What's the nib supposed to be on it? And does it have the original squeeze filler?

Great find! Such good writing and reliable pens.

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies!

Today I received the pen. It is brand new and still in its box, complete with a Parker Jotter ballpoint pen in the same color.

The set is English made. On the fountain pen are still the chalk marks: ''45'' STUDENT M.

In real the color is lovely!

I am looking for a yellow and a pink 45. Perhaps both are somewhat uncommon colors and dont often come up for sale.

Hi,

I finally got time to make some pictures of the set.

I hope you like it.

Looks like an "octanium" (steel) F nib. There should be a nib code on the bottom of the nib unit, visible just by turning the pen over.

I'd be interested in whether there is a squeeze converter fitted, and if so, whether it still works properly.

That and some more interesting colors do exist. Beside some exotic nibs on this otherwise modest Parker pen.

How uncommon is the deep (almost blackish) forest? green, the light blue and the metador red 45s?

I know that the pink and orange , like the yellow, are not so common.

Thank you all for the replies. I am happy that I'm not the only one who loves this set!

I paid 12 Euros for it, that's not too much, I think. It is brand new, the fountain pen is never inked. The chalk marks are still on the barrel.

I think I will not ink it up, but will keep it in its mint condition, so I don't know if it writes well.

The nib is a 'M' and there is no convertor inside. The set is 'Made in England'.

Yes, I found it in the Netherlands.

How common are these yellow Jotters? Do you see them often?

daffie

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
