Vert Optimiste

Violet Malicieux

 

 

They have 8 cartridges for $10 in blue, black or red. Not sure, but they may be proprietary.

 

LV's site doesn't make it easy to find their inks, so it's best simply to use the search feature (magnifying glass) at the top of the page. Simply typing in "ink" will take you to this page:

Otherwise, you need to take a circuitous path from women or men to books & writing then writing, then filter out accessories and scroll, scroll, scroll.

There is much speculation that LV ink is made by J. Herbin & some are just re-branded existing colours, rather than specials or re-formulations. I've tried several and they do seem very Herbinesque.

Does anyone have anything more definitive about this?

I do not think LV inks are made by Herbin, they are far too rich, compared with Herbin's. But, this is just my opinion, no information I could have had.

 

@Aquaria, a FPN member contacted LV US, not so long ago, and they didn't have any inks available. The fact they are displayed in the site does not mean they are available.

And with LV stopping the production and sale of their inks, it has been a moment they are not restocked. It is the same here, in France. I just got the last 2 bottles of Rouge Libertin they had.

I contacted LV regarding availability of their inks, and received the following reply:

 

Thank you for contacting Louis Vuitton.

While many of our inks are currently unavailable, we anticipate delivery in the coming weeks. We are happy to place an order request for you through Client Services at 866-VUITTON (866-884-8866). Your card will be charged in full during order placement, and your item should arrive in approximately two weeks.

I know for certain that LV inks aren't made by J.Herbin.

 

I bought most of the recalled bottles that still have their cellophane and bar code on them and the bar code confirms they are made in Austria. So from that I have easily been able to guess which large factory makes them.

 

When in stock there will only be 3 colours available: Rouge Gourmand, Bleu Sybellin and Noir Magnetique.

 

All of the others are deleted and have been recalled. This information came from the CEO's office in France.
