Cotele Cartridge Size?

Recommended Posts

I recently picked up a Waterman Cotele on eBay.

My Waterman cartridges will not fit. The hole in the nib section is too small. I've since read about the C/F converters, but I'd like to know for sure if that's what this pen needs. Spending $40 for a converter for a $9 tarnished and awkward to use pen is not going to happen. Of course I can find no references anywhere.

I contacted Waterman and they say this pen should take a regular cartridge/converter. *sigh* I think they are wrong, but I don't know. Can any of you confirm this?

John

p.s. I am pretty sure this is a Cotele and not a Maestro. It looks the same as in Grandmia Pens video.

The Cotele or Master (Super) as it is better known is shown in a Waterman catalogue, which also displays Standard 23 International cartridges. I must therefore assume they are for all the fountain pens therein.

I have now seen a picture of a modern, post 1980, Waterman converter installed in a Master (Cotele) section. Therefore I would expect a Waterman cartridge to do the same. If not the section has a fault.

Thanks. The fault is it's too narrow. I will take some measurements.
