Fountain Pen Wallpapers?

Hey everyone!

I'm sure we've all had the issue of looking for a nice computer background, mine happens to be a plain grey one. So in the effort of making helping facilitate this process, I was wondering if any photographers would like to shoot some pictures of your favorite pens, and post them here, I personally would be appreciative, and I am sure a number of community members would be as well.

It seems that sites like Imgur may be best in this application since the maximum resolution allowed to be uploaded on FPN is 1000x1000 pixels, if you have ideas please share.

Technical details:

  • If possible link to a picture of 1920x1080 or more in resolution so that they can be scaled to fit a variety of monitors.
  • It would also be nice to have the name of the pen, this is optional.
  • Feel free to sign your pictures, digitally or within the picture i.e. on a piece of paper the pen is placed on.

Some things that should be clear:

  • This is for fun.
  • Please be aware that pictures that are sent will likely be downloaded and used for wall paper on private computers, if you have a problem with this please abstain from posting.
  • Please only post pictures you took of your pens, or someone else's pens (with their permission of course) this is to avoid possible copy infringement.

Also, if this post is in the wrong section I apologize, if there is one that would suit it better just let me know and I will move it!

I'm going to throw my own hat into the ring when I receive my new pen (should be tomorrow) and give it a good looking over!

I once did a wallpaper featuring a fountain pen.

Resolution is too low though.

With permission of the original posters, there are some great photos of demonstrators filled with Blue Ghost or of Blue Ghost and pen on a desk.

A thread with pictures from both Mocksy and Eternally Noodling

Some of the photos have been removed, including the one I saved as wallpaper, but the discussion is interesting as well.

Gazcom is currently active on FPN, so his permission might be more likely.

This is a picture I took for the Kaweco Summer Contest in 2015. I didn't win, but I got runner up and was allowed to pick out a Classic Sport with a nib of my choice.

"Oh deer."

Don't the walls end up lumpy if you use pens as wall paper?

If you apply enough force that won't me a problem. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/images/smilies/headwally.gif

Not a fountain pen, but a dip pen. Made a photo I took into a wallpaper. 16:9 and 16:10. Enjoy or ignore. Free for non-comercial use.

Brause Schulfeder and J. Herbin "Poussière De Lune".

... but FPN and photobucket prevent me from posting it in full resolution. So, no one gets a wallpaper.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
