I'm currently using both Pharmacist's blue Urkundentinte "Document Ink" and his red-black Oriens-Occidens -- both being iron gall inks. Love that stuff.

Any color I want. I don't sign documents. I also don't use black so edits will show up on papers and presentations, etc. It is one of the things I use to make the office less drab.

In my pocket protector, pens a selection that I can choose from. Interestingly, they are all Noodler's inks.:

 • Noodler's Liberty's Elysium (blue)
 • Noodler's Lexington Grey
 • Noodler's Forest Green

Other carry pens with:

 • Waterman Florida/Serenity blue
 • Waterman black

I would like to carry Diamine Sherwood Green (a nice dark green), but I have not found a pen that will reliably not clog with that ink.

ps, if you want to drive some people nuts. Write with Sheaffer turquoise. The black and white copier that I used, would NOT copy that ink. It was like invisible ink to the copier. ;)

BTW, my attorney told me when I asked if I had to use certain color inks to sign documents, "use whatever color you want, as long as it is legible (meaning NOT yellow) and will photocopy." She must have been referring to Sheaffer turquoise.

Any color that is in my pen at the moment. My department office doesn't care about what color I sign papers with, as long as they are signed. So, I have signed anything from purchasing reconciliations to new hire paperwork in purple, orange, and all the greens, browns, reds, and blues in between!

Currently, I am using KWZ IG Red #3, Diamine Mozart, and Diamine Safari, with the occasional Diamine Tyrian Purple.

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! Please PM me!For Sale: TBA

Robert Oster Fire & Ice. I am only required to use a blue. Our original documents all get scanned into electronic warehousing for storage so, I don't have to worry about using permanent ink.

Currently a blend 2:5 of Waterman's Black to Florida Blue. A very nice blue black is is much more blue black-y than real Waterman's Blue Black!

I use Stipula Netto - Sepia for just about everything - including my work notes and documents. If I want to highlight something I use Diamine Pumpkin.

Back when I worked, Waterman Havana Brown, now called Absolute Brown, or Brown.

Mostly Sheaffer Skrip turquoise (no kidding). When I want to vary colors, Montblanc Irish green and lavender purple.

My work requires blue, black or blue/black ink for signatures, forms and official memoranda. Blue or Blue-Black are considered desirable for signatory use to easily differentiate a wet signature from a photocopy, although this is not a hard requirement.

For signatures, I use a broad/wet nib with Rohrer & Klingner Salix (mostly for water resistance).

For marginal notations, I use a Japanese EF or F nib with R&K Salix (to minimize bleed, feathering and spread on the cheap paper we have).

For everything else even remotely "official", I use F or M nibs with Pilot Blue Black. Great ink with some water resistance, great behavior, low maintenance overhead and very inexpensive.

For less-than-official writing (e.g., congenial notes and signing cards) I often use Iroshizuku Asa-Gao, usually with a 0.8-1.1 cursive italic or M nib. Asa-Gao's vibrant color is appropriate when I want to convey positivity, cheerfulness or friendliness. For situations requiring gravitas or sobriety, I'll default back to Pilot Blue Black.

Edited to correct spelling errors. Jeez.

I almost always have one pen inked with Diamine Grey for all-purpose use. Right now I have a second office/business pen loaded with Iroshizuku Shin-Kai, but I'll probably switch over to a brighter blue as spring arrives (most likely Kon-Peki, which makes me smile). I'm on the board of a park conservancy and handle a lot of correspondence, donation thank yous, etc, and green feels perfect for that -- so I often turn to Pelikan Edelstein Aventurine or Noodlers Green.
