I love everything Pelikan: design, performance, interchangeability of nibs and easy maintenance.

I like the variety of designs and nibs offered by Montblanc.

I enjoy the beauty of the wood/metal pens of GvFC.

But I don't much care for Lamy.

For my tastes, Pelikan >>>> MB > GvFC.

But you did not say what are your preferences. So, which one is your favorite?

Vintage: Soennecken, Kaweco, Osmia, Pelikan and Montblanc.

Modern: Pelikan

I'm a user, baby.

We love what we do not possess. Plato, probably about pens.

Soennecken, Kaweco, Mercedes, Matador and quite a few other lesser or extinct brands - as soon as I see some German pen from the 1950s or 1960s, my eyes light up.

For me, Pelikan (even though they're so darned pricy). Followed by Lamy -- but only because I really like my Dark Lilac Safari.

My experience is limited to modern German pens, and for three of those brands I have only one pen each, so my ordering is fraught with uncertainty. Still, that never stopped a casual opinion so in Group 1 I have Lamy (meaning nothing below a 2000) and Pelikan as exemplars with GvFC scraping in, followed by Group 2 containing one Montblanc.

In terms of number of pens in my collection, Schneider is king (6 pens), then Pelikan (5). Herlitz is next up with three pens. I have a couple from each of Lamy, Rotring, Geha, Faber Castell, and 80's era Mont Blanc.

Senator and Diplomat get one each. Obscure pens are: Ted Lapidus, Frank Becker, as well as school pens by Romus and Brio.

My favorite vintages are Osmia and Faber-Castell. Their nibs are just best I have found. And I haven't got any modern favorites, because I don't own that many modern pens...

Vintage - Osmia, Soennecken, Montblanc, Pelikan.

Modern - Pelikan, Montblanc.

But Montblanc only to work, not to for watching it in showcase. :P

Within my limited experience so far, overall, Pelikan. My favorite Montblanc (so far) was a version of the 144. Its nib deserved a blue ribbon for feel and flow.

I fixed my eye on Lamy as I like the industrial and Bauhaus design of the Safaris and Al-Stars. But don't think I wouldn't apprechiate a beautiful pen of another brand. I also got pens of Kawecos Sport line. My collection is quite low budget. :P

I really like some of the songs by Guano Apes. :D

Kidding aside, I've only tried Lamy and Pelikan pens and Pelikan comes out on top for me.

I've never tried a GvFC pen, but I can tell you, I am really REALLY enjoying their Moss Green in my pens right now.
