Depends on what you want to do. If you need slight adjustments, I have asked the in-house nibmeister at K.Itoya to help out. However he will not do custom grinds.

EuroBox can do a lot. Straightened out a vintage nib twisted to the point of looking like a cork screw. He can not retip nor fix cracks, however.

Kawakubo might beable to work on nibs. I believe he can, just don't know if he can.

Hello,

I'm going to Japan next July and I wish to have my MontBlanc 149 M nib made an F or EF.
Here in Brazil is difficult to fing a good NibMaister that I can trust my 149. Is there a good place in japan I can have it done with perfection?

not a lot of nib meisters in Tokyo but this thread has most of them... then there's MB stores in Tokyo drop by them and see if they can fix your problem as its basically a nib swap job

Ok! Will try.

I'm going to Kyoto, as well. Any recomendations there?

I don'tkown; reather have my 149 nib tuned by a japanese nibmaister, then just change it. I've herd they are magicians in this kind of work.

I recommend you to attend Wagner meeting if possible. The leader of the meeting is a skilled man surpassing even professional

nib meisters.

Mr. Yoshimune who is a master of Pen and message that is a fountain pen shop in Kobe may help you.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
