Morriset Dip Pen, Too Small For New Nib Unit

I have a Morriset dip pen (the one with the brass section in the middle) that has a nib unit in it. I recently picked up five new nibs for it that came in a bunch of Esterbrook rewnew points I bought. I went to put one of the new, unused nib units into my pen and they would screw in only about half-way before it got too tight. The old nib that was already in there goes in and out just fine, but the nib is not as nice as the shiny new ones.

Is there some way of widening the pen, or narrrowing the nibs? Would waxing the nib unit up help maybe? Did the newer nib units not really fit the older pens? Did the older pen shrink?

I obviously don't want to ruin my pen, but any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Waxing would only let you force the tight nib unit in.

Check the threads on the nib unit to see if they are clogged.

With age, the Morriset holder may have shrunk also.

How are the other 4 nib units?

All of the new nib units are the same when trying to screw them in, they go about 3/4 way before getting too tight.

I also have another nib unit that came with the Morriset nibs that's obviously made to go into the pen but the nib is marked WASP but the letters have been stamped over with dots, like it was a reject or something. It's an extra fine nib. That also will only make it 3/4 of the way in.

I have another, later Morriset pen on the way, one of the colored ink wells and pens without the brass insert. I'll see if these new nibs fit that one any better.

I like the slight heft of the brass insert pen and was hoping one of these nibs would fit.
