I'd expect a grey ink from something called "anthracite". Blacks are kind of boring... to me...

 

Nope. To me "anthracite" means "hard coal" (as opposed to soft coal, which is bituminous coal). So I expected black (and shiny black at that). It's just that Albrecht Dürer *used* to be relabeled Silver Grey, which is a gorgeous color (I have a bottle of Tchaikowsky, which is also relabeled Silver Grey). Reminds me of silverpoint drawings. And I loved the idea of a silver grey ink being named after one of the most amazing draftsmen and printmaker ever (I think of him doing silverpoint drawings, even if I'm not sure he did).

Yeah, most black inks are boring t me as well. Even back in my BP days I always preferred blue ink to black. And AD is a little drier and less lubricated than a lot of the De Atramentis inks I've tried, which doesn't help.

I'd use Noodler's original Purple as my Essential Purple, too.

I may come back to the CRVs for Lent and Advent after those penitential seasons are done, and contribute then. Hey, Amber didn't do one ink each day, she did 366 inks.

YES, and it would have been impossible (for me) to do ink up a new pen and write five pages every day.

 

I agree with Arkanabar, do these when you can and add them to the pages. OH and share the CRVs.

Giving credit to Mr Mehandiratta here. It was his review of Krishna Dark Rose that pushed me over the edge into ordering bottles of Krishna inks.

Mix it with North African Violet for an amazing color. Midway is fade and water resistant.

I took your advice, and I really like the results:

The first lines are equal parts of both inks mixed together then toward the middle/end, I dipped the pen in NAV only, then back to the mix for the attribute. I like this shade of blue better than Midway by itself. Thanks for the tip!
