I more or less (ok, almost) completed the fill of Napa Burgundy. Since I hadn't tried the Diamine Merlot yet I put it in the 3776.....

Wow -- your Skrip Red is a lot brighter than mine. I didn't like it when I tried it, because it was more of a blood red to me.

Mix it with North African Violet for an amazing color. Midway is fade and water resistant.

This topic is brilliant, I am learning so much and some of it relates to inks! 😏 One of the best things is that I realise that I'm not the only nerd around 👍🏻

 

I prepared my sample on Sunday but haven't gotten around to photographing it until now. I have learnt something about attempting to take photos inside my house. My house is virtually a glass box and consequently it's full of light. So this should make things easy. But from an architectural perspective (& due to summer heat), all our windows and doors are tinted. On top of that I'm a lousy photographer, I'm using my iPad, it's been too hot to take them outside and now it's pouring. This means that the colours in my pics have only a passing resemblance with reality.

 

For what it's worth, here it is:

Well, I finally had a chance this evening to get a bunch of scanning done (sadly, a lot of it was work done NOT with a fountain pen, but artwork inked with a Uniball M -- and touched up with a fair amount of white out... :blush:). But this is the important stuff for purposes of this thread:

Both ended up being done on the Tomoe River paper, because it's just slightly slicker than the stuff from the Pelikan Hub, and the pen, a Parker 45, has what I think is either an OF or OM nib so it's got an even weirder small sweet spot than even a "normal" 45 nib. And it's a slightly dry writer, and the ink is also drier and a bit less lubricated than many De Atramentis inks so it just worked better on the TR paper. And of course I'm *still* trying to wrap my brain around the fact that when I first heard of the ink it was relabeled D'A Silvergrau... and isn't any more.... :(

This is such a wonderful idea! The threads would be great to follow even if I can't contribute (as will probably happen, considering my modest-ish supply of ink). Here's my humble contribution to this week's theme. Excuse the horribe photographs- there is a paucity of natural light in my room so I am making do with a bright desk lamp and my phone's camera.

I'd expect a grey ink from something called "anthracite". Blacks are kind of boring... to me...

Thank you, it is quite pretty :)

Giving credit to Mr Mehandiratta here. It was his review of Krishna Dark Rose that pushed me over the edge into ordering bottles of Krishna inks.

 

Blue Velvet is my favourite from the Diamine anniversary inks.

 

Ditto. I find it stunning even in a nib as fine as the Vintage capless I currently have it inked in :D

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
