That's indeed random, LOL. Maybe we can try guessing what that ink is.

I'm going to guess Magic Dragon since I had it loaded and that nib/writing appears correct.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Nope. Just shine a blacklight at your monitor.... ;)

Is it even possible? You are joking aren't you?

If I happened to see something different from what has been shown on the screen then it'd be real ghost not Blue Ghost, similar to the ability to tell the color of the gem stones in black & white movies.

Well, it's possible to shine a blacklight on your screen... :lticaptd: But yes, I was joking.

If if the blacklight revealed something not there under normal light, I would first assume you accidentally splashed some UV-reactive ink on your screen, and if that wasn't the case, I think I might run. :yikes:

I choose this one

Monteverde Napa Burgundy.

I got two samples over the weekend. This and Diamine Merlot. Haven't tried the Merlot yet. Comparing to some of my other reds - the paper is Tomoe River. In this photo I used my Platinum 3776 Century Bourgogne with B nib on the Pomegranate and Napa Burgundy. The Classic Red is a Parker 45 with a fat nib. (collar says M, I think it is wider)

I am writing a pen pal in England with the Napa Burgundy to try and get a feel for it.

Here it is with Uluru Red too! Although in the first word or so it is extra wet- so it puddled.

Another great week!

I don't use a spreadsheet either and I also kind of know which ink is kept where in my drawer of shame so I used my son as a random ink generator. I presented him with my upturned swatches and asked him to "pick a card"

He chose Diamine Ancient Copper.

I loaded it into my red Ahab, oh boy, :( it hates it. Poor starts after only a second or so of pausing for thought. The ink feels draggy in it. The lines aren't crisp. Yuk

This MUST be an Ahab thing. Ancient copper is a gorgeous ink that behaved impeccably in my Vac 700 for nearly a whole year. So instead of photographing the scrappy page written with the Ahab I'll leave you all with the fond memories I have of it.

Just as soon as the last of my Mont Blanc Leonardo Red Chalk is used up in it I plan to reload Ancient copper in it again . . . :)

Finally, someone who did not have an all positive experience with the random ink. Although in your case it's the pen that is the problem, it would seem. Well, maybe that might be the case for me too, with the JFK, because now that I think about it, I did like it when I diptested it... OTOH the Dollar that I have it in usually has better than average flow... all of them do, so far. (I'm getting the ones I lent to my students back and am writing them dry, and they're all very good writers).

Hope it goes better in the other pen...

Blue sheen?! Ooooh I need to see it!

You can almost see it in this scan. I'll see if I can get a picture later.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
