Currently inked from left to right: Guider zimbo pushcap (Schmidt fine), PLP jumbo (ACR ebonite feed from Krishna pens + KW BBB-right oblique), PLP jumbo (KW ebonite feed + KW BBB-right oblique). Happy Diwali everyone!

Nothing currently inked, but I do have two Rangas. A Monterey and a Zayante Z2 (both Peyton Street Pens exclusives) one with a 1.1 the other a Architect Broad.  Also a Guider Capsule in a 1 of 1 material with a Broad.,

Thanks! I suppose I am one of the odd fellows that rotate the pen to the right while being right handed.

  • 4 weeks later...

Nice to see the Jumbo after having some mentions of ACR Kim pens over the last few weeks.  I do not have one of these.  I could never get used to the contrast of the big beefy pen with a nib that seems too small in perspective.  It wasn't just the Kim pens.  Every pen maker that had their versions of this size pen left me flat.  Everything else was just fine.  I may make an exception and justify having one as part of the "collection".  Just because it may not be the pen for me to use, I can still admire it and appreciate the workmanship.  There is so much to be said in the elegance of the humblest of things.

I understand 👍 It's a common theme with most of the Indian Jumbo pens - to have a smaller nib in comparison to the body size. I have several such Jumbos from different makers and they are very comfortable for me to use. I can't even use most of these pens as comfortably if they had a bigger nib.

Heard that even Kanwrite #9 steel nib units are available for purchase now. Plus Junlai #9 nib units. For those who prefer a more aesthetic look, it's possible to have such Indian pens with such bigger nibs now, thankfully 👍

I felt the same way. However, my friend from India convinced me to leave some of my vintage Indian eyedropper pens (with their smaller vintage Indian nibs) alone. In his eyes, they are period correct and should be respected as such. His insights also extended to the smaller Indian No. 8 nibs. That said, I've spent more time hunting down vintage Indian No. 8 nibs than any other type of nib.

I actually the same thing.  I am inadvertently treating these Jumbo ACR's just like I did the ACR pens that had that big clip.  It took me a while to get used to that also and now they have prominent places in my pen cases.  I did acquire a PLP Jumbo but it hasn't been inked up as of yet.  Perhaps I need to get out of my comfort zone and explore a bit.  I'm only 70, there's still time to discover new things.

Nice 👍

This nib makes the pen look more aesthetically pleasing.

Plastic or Ebonite feed? Just wondering as Kanwrite now offers ebonite feeds but I there have been little feedback on these newer feeds.

Thanks,

Ebonite feed (pic below). The pen is from 2022-23, the feed was acquired in 2024, the nib in early 2025. I have been buying KW ebonite feeds since 2020 (I can't be sure). The quality has remained good throughout, at least w.r.t. my samples. I have attached a writing sample, it is wet and adequately supports wider nib widths (BB or BBB). To my eyes, the channels are wide. When using it with large capacity pens (e.g., old Gamas) the burping issue seems to be fixed. I believe the cost as of October 2025 is 100INR.

My daily beater is Gama Eyas , 35 nib, ebonite feed, eye dropper.

It writes very smooth and i am happy with this pen.

Glad to be part of this FPN.
