Saw this on Lotus' Instagram page.

Interesting. Seems like they did further modifications to the design after being called out.

This is what the first version looked like(Not my pics). And they used similar sales description as well that's been used by other Kim ACR Jumbo sellers since long.

A Kim ACR Jumbo was sent to Lotus, and then Lotus made their version from that pen. First they made exact copy of it (as per their capability of course as I don't think they can replicate ACRji's work) and then they did slight modification in design and launched their Ananta/Anantha/whatever model.

I hear you and it looks greatly inspired as well. Some old parker pens also have a similar form. Arunji could have also been looking at a Parker, in addition to an ACR. The way you wrote, to me sounded like you are accusing Lotus of IP theft.

Let it be Sir. I am telling you exactly how that Lotus pen was made, because I know the people who got that pen made, before Lotus even launched it officially. And yet you continue to assume that they were inspired from some Parker or other pen. So no point in discussing further 👍

And my issue is not with Lotus copying the design(which even vintage Mabie Todd pens had) but not giving any credit to ACRji at all, even though they tried to copy the size, shape, clip, ink capacity and even sales description used for Kim Jumbo pens.

Enjoyed seeing the Woodex and that Lotus.  The heavy duty clip that cane with some of my Kim ACR pens never appealed to me.  I consider the clip another unique characteristic of the pen.  None of the Kim's I have look as sharp as that Lotus.  Some comparison pictures with the Woodex pen would be great because I would like to have an idea on the size.  Having that quantity of an ink capacity would make the pen huge, at least that is what I am thinking.  Thanks everyone for the pictures.

Yes, I know some who don't like the Kim Clip. Dr.Sreekumar from Krishna pens has launched Krishna ACR Jumbo pens this year. You might like the clip and polishing on those 🙂 Will share couple of pics below. But the waiting list is too long for these pens and they are produced in small quantities, so it'll take one time to get these pens via his WhatsApp group.

Have shared more pics and detailed dimensions of that Woodex pen in this post below. You can check it out if interested 👍

I agree, no point in us debating here.

Now those Krishna jumbo pens, love the way these turned out.

And these Krishna Jumbo pens will come with a Krishna nib that's grinded and tuned by Dr.Sreekumar. I love his nib grinds. These Jumbos will write beautifully out of the box. Also, these will have those original Sheaffer-like feed used in older Kim Jumbos.

Those Woodex 63/63 mini Jumbos and these Krishna Jumbos are few excellent Indian Jumbo pens that one can get today IMO.

It's nice to see a resurgence of Jumbos, especially dedicated eyedroppers, among the various Indian pen manufacturers. The reintroduction of those (Sheaffer-inspired) ebonite feeds doesn't hurt either. I've got to get off my butt and order some of those while they are available. From this collector's point of view, I think the KIM-ACRs will always be king (the standard-bearer, so to speak) among the Indian ebonite jumbos, if only because of the crazy amount of colorful Indian ebonites that were available at the time. I inquired about some similar-looking ebonite rods, but was told that they were of insufficient diameter for larger jumbo-sized pens, and no new stock was anticipated, ever. On the other hand, this may be the golden age of crazy colored acrylics. So, there are new worlds of creativity to explore for the current and upcoming Indian pen makers.

Tommy

Krishna pens launched their Finned ebonite feed this year. It's available on krishnalyrebird.com

These feeds on Krishna Jumbo are old remaining stock of Mr.ACR's feed.

While some old design ebonites are not available, the ebonite supplier is making some really nice new ebonite rods these days. Look forward to seeing what else they come up with.

Woodex has got Delrin material for their upcoming Woodex 63/63 mini models. Sample pics should be available soon.

yes, the nibs look and write beautifully. I love the new clip as well. I just sent a message to Dr. Sree to add me to the whatsapp group. This is one pen I am looking forward to.

I just bought a few KW feeds, you know what, I have zero burping issues with them till now. I will report after a few more months of testing.

Nice.

For many of my Jumbo pens I haven't faced any burping issue even with basic feed. At least for Kim Jumbo pens the feed doesn't even matter that much. But it would be nice to have something from ACRji in this Krishna Jumbo pen 🙂

Right, I am testing the new KW feeds vs the new Krishna ACR feeds on Oliver pens, plastic pens that have burped when using simple ebonite feeds :)  Till now, the KW feeds are doing very well. Given that the KW feeds cost 85 INR and the Krishna-ACR ones costed 200 and 300 INR, I want to see if there is a tangible advantage when buying ACR feeds.

This would be interesting. Look forward to hearing the results 👍 But the Krishna feed should perform better than KW one when the flow gets excessive in some scenarios. Let's see.

Yes, in terms of flow it seems like, give me a couple of months more. Both have NOT burped yet.

Am also interested to see how these changes turn out.  I have some of these Oliver pens and their clones from several other companies.  Switching feeds would make these pens much easier to cope with.  I can keep them from making a mess here at home but that's because I can make all the necessary changes and adjustments required to avoid any of those issues.  Having a feed that would catch that before it became an issue would be a game changer.   I am more than interested.

Currently inked from left to right: Guider zimbo pushcap (Schmidt fine), PLP jumbo (ACR ebonite feed from Krishna pens + KW BBB-right oblique), PLP jumbo (KW ebonite feed + KW BBB-right oblique). Happy Diwali everyone!
