I love both Bob..Since engrosser's take much time so when I don't have much time I try Spencerian.

I have missed several weeks and used this weekend to catch up. My intention was to be very regular but I guess I had underestimated my laziness inertia.

Also, it seems to me that we are running a week behind on quotations as last week's was posted just a couple of days ago. Shall we add a new one on Monday or just let it slip?

Here are the submissions I have missed to date:

Salman,

Let's catch up with an extra quote for this week.

“Good name in man and woman, dear my lord,
Is the immediate jewel of their souls:
Who steals my purse steals trash; ’tis something, nothing;
’twas mine, ’tis his, and has been slave to thousands;
But he that filches from me my good name
Robs me of that which not enriches him,
And makes me poor indeed.”
William Shakespeare, Othello

I think we are on track now with Runnin_Ute's quote selection but I don't mind doing two for this week - it will be twice the fun :-)

Sagar - thank you for the kind words :-)

In the beginning it was said that normal handwriting was acceptable:

So that's my everyday, note-taking hand.

This is my first quote. I have been very bad about practicing. Hopefully participating here, will help me increase my practice time.

Weber - very nice everyday hand.

Darrin - practice, practice makes perfect. I've not mastered the flex pen yet.

David - Italic is life. Lovely, lively script.

David - That Gothic is something! A little bit of italic in it?

KSM - Foundation with a Capless? Nice!

Sagarb - Thank you!

_I.F. - The gothic script is a version of Gothic Bâtarde. Lloyd Reynolds had a version of this script that was even closer to Italic. I really should learn it, because I find it quite beautiful. Shakespeare's own hand was "Secretary," which has some similarity to Gothic Bâtarde and was contemporaneous to it, I think. However, I cannot write it or, for that matter, read it!

Happy writing!

For some reason I thought I read an explanation from the Folger library or someplace that secretary hand was developed specifically to make legal contracts more difficult to read, requiring professional legal counsel. I can't find the reference, but it's amusing anyway. What an illegible hand.

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
