2017 is coming within a few hours! Join us in our 2017 Weekly Ink Project! Click here to read more about this community project. We are going to create separate threads for each week in this Co-Razy-Views subforum.

So we are starting this project with our first theme: Happy New Year! Pick an ink that'll bring you good luck for the new year!

You are welcome to share with us your choice of ink, your writing, drawing, doodling or anything with the ink in this thread. Tell us why you choose this ink, what your new year resolutions are, etc.

You can take a photo, make a scan, or even better, write letters and CRV reviews (what is a CRV?) and mail them to the many ink pals here. You are welcome to check back on this thread even when we've gone past this week.

I'll be posting about my own choice tomorrow. If you want to do CRV reviews with me, just DM me with your address or ask for my snail mail address. (Given the snail-y nature of mails I might send out CRV sheets every two or three weeks, instead of every week.)

Enjoy inking and happy new year to all!

---------

The theme of Week #2 will be: Throw of the Dice - Close your eyes and pick a random ink from your stash.

Happy New Year everyone. It's 9:30am on 1/1/17 at my holiday home in NZ. Here is my post which was written on white TR paper with a Schneider Base Pen with a LH Nib. (I don't know why it's come out sideways.) Despite it's challenges, I love BSB, it's the only ink I always have in use. I'm particularly fond of its vibrancy.

I am really looking forward to reading everyone's posts. 😊

So, even on lined paper, I can't keep my left edge straight...

It looks like Pelikan Edelstein Garnet, Queen Pillar Box Red and Robert Oster Fire Engine Red are the purest, reddest Reds.

I've been looking forward to this weekly ink project starting & at last the fun has begun..... :-)

Here's my ink for week #1. Red has always been a favourite and lucky colour for me, and this one is so aptly named for this week's theme. It might possibly even re-appear for week #4!

Hi folks, lovely submissions so far. What fun this will be and a great place to share ink ideas.

Anyway, here is mine. I went with Diamine Brandy Dazzle, because I'd like 2017 to be filled with dazzle (and brandy).

Happy new year everyone!

I used iroshizuku kon-peki for two reasons:

1) the colour makes me think about blue skies and what I really want from this 2017 is serenity.

2) I never had the chance to try out iroshizukus inks, so i hope that 2017 brings me lots of new wonderful things to appreciate.

Well said Liz :)

Thanks! I don't usually do resolutions, but as I was considering inks for this thread, it just came to me this this is what my 2017 needs to be. Pulling it off will be the hard part. :)

When I read the theme, I immediately thought of yellow. Not sure why, but I am always yellow in board games and so perhaps I link it with good luck!

I don't intend to write in yellow this week, so cheating slightly here and using a dip pen and Winsor & Newton canary yellow ink.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
