Pink Pens

Hello all,

I saw a thread from around 2011 that mentioned various pink fountain pens. I have always been on the hunt for them so thought an updated thread listing favorite pink-colored fountain pens might be fun (if you are into pink).

In my collection:

Pelikan M600 pink special edition

Aurora Talentum Finesse

Delta Passion pink

Delta Fluida

Platinum 3776 Century pink

Pilot Prera pink

Montblanc Slimline pink (vintage)

Pilot Namiki Capless Decimo (pinkish/champagne)

Lamy Safari hot pink & coral

A tiny vintage Parker in a magenta color that you fill with a push button (not sure of the model)

Sailor Millecolore (part of it is pink)

Esterbrook pink purse pen lever filler

Sheaffer Snorkel in buckskin is pink-ish

Just discovered and immediately bought (it's on the way!):

Vanishing Point 2011 pink limited edition

Curious about:

Kaweco Skyline Sport

Monteverde has a very nice looking pink fountain pen

Sailor Professional Gear pink demonstrator

A solid colored Sailor pink that I've seen mention of but not been able to track down

Missed out on:

Conklin Mark Twain pink

Not so crazy about:

Montblanc's Muses Poudre fountain pen looks a bit too flesh colored, at least viewing it online. Has anyone seen it in person?

If I won the lottery:

Montblanc has a Princess Grace de Monaco pink limited edition that costs $65,000 and is the prettiest pen I've ever seen. Although, even if i won the lottery ... that still seems ridiculous to pay for a fountain pen. :)

What are your favorite pink fountain pens?

Not a particular fan of pink pens, so I don't own any, but I do find that Pelikan 600 to be a beauty.

There are a few Pelikans that don't appeal to me and the M600 Pink is one of them. That doesn't surprise me though, as I find pink an extremely difficult color to oil paint with or to photograph (to say nothing of decorating).

Sheaffer No Nonsense has a Frosted Pink that is interesting though, and I believe it is the only pink pen I own. Not buckskin, a real pink, frosted finish. Go figure...

Yes, that is a stunning pen and carries off the pink so very well. Maybe it's the diamonds? But I'd have trouble paying that for an automobile, much less a pen. I know

The Cross Solo Sport is very nice, and is new to me. I also like the Sheaffer - new things to think about buying on a rainy day!

Let's see, I have:

2 x Pelikano P450 in "rose red", I think it's called

1 x Pelikano P460 in pink, unopened

1 x Pelikano P67 in pink, left-handed version (because I wasn't paying attention)

2 x Waterman JIF school pen, 'millefleur' design where the principal color is pink

1 x Waterman JIF2 in light and dark grey with pink clip and section

1 x Sheaffer VFM in 'ruby' that looks more like a dusty rose color

1 x Sailor High Ace Neo clear barrel with pink cart, clear section and feed take on the ink color

I think that's it.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

My wife got the neon pink Monteverde Intima 1.1 for $37 at a local pen shop a couple of weeks ago. We used a pink Iroshizuku ink in it and the nib was very unreliable. There are a lot of complaints if you research this particular model. My experience seems to be that pink inks in general are very dry.

I did a LOT of nib tweaking, and with either Quink Black or 54th Massachusetts, it's much more reliable now, though I'd still like to get the nib to stay wetter. I'd probably advise others to skip this one.

Serwex has several with pink options, such as the 1362 in solid and demonstrator styles, and also the 77TR; I remember seeing them at the FPR online catalogue.

No, I am not going to list my pens here.

Only pink pen I have is a Parker Vector. I would have liked to have gotten the Pelikan M600 but couldn't afford it. Thought about the pink Safari because when I decided to break down and get one, I figured I might as well go all out and get a silly color. But I decided I didn't like what it looked like when I saw them in person (and then of course the Dark Lilac Safaris came out this year and it was All Over.... B) Thinking about that TWSBI now, because it's not a super "girly" pink and the accents just make it really attractive looking (especially for an otherwise transparent pen.

Of course, a few years ago someone posted a photo of a Sailor (IIRC) "Hello Kitty" fountain pen. It was actually a very attractive bright cheery pink, and I would have liked to have gotten one. Except that it was $300 US. :yikes: And said "Hello Kitty" on it....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
