Looking To Develop A "flair" Printing Writing Style To Put My Pilot Fa Nib To Good Use

Hello folks,

I recently got a Pilot Custom 742 with the FA nib. This is a very soft nib that can open up to a bit under a millimeter with very light pressure.

No, I don't plan to do Spencerian calligraphy with the big fat loops with this pen.

The plan is to take my regular printing writing style (very standard looking) and add little curves, loops, hooks, thick and thin segments, etc in order to make it look a little more fancy and organic or natural, if that makes any sense.

Right now, the only thing I am doing is using light index finger pressure to widen some of the down strokes as well as writing faster and sloppy on purpose to make it look less straight and rigid. I'm probably aiming for an equal balance of speed, looking fancy / organic, and legible.

Suggestions?

Practice. Adding a personal touch to your handwriting takes time and constant tinkering until I you find something visually appealing to your eye. Play with letter forms and perhaps try a few variations of each until you find one that you find pleasant to look at and read. Spencerian for example is nice looking, but a right bloody pain to read for a long time.
