Just discovered this brand while looking for places to buy in in Australia and shuddered at the prices eg 30 AUD for a 80ml Diamine ink vs 6 GBP for that...

But anyhow back to think ink, how long was it left for before you submerged it to get those waterproof results ? Looks pretty solid

I don't really remember. One night, I think?

The first version of this ink had problems with flow - don't remember the details but one of the components (the lubricant?) had a tendency to become gelatinous. I've now got a reformulated version that behaves much better - but I confess the colour doesn't apeal to me!

I just found out this ink dries out very easily on the nib and causes lots of hard starts.

Yep, that's been my experience with the reformulated ink (so far) - though it's surprisingly easy to get it started again. Just wipe the nib with a tissue, and it's off and running again. Unusual behaviour...

It's true. And once it starts flowing it's so smooth and wet...

Full credit to the Blackstone crew for reformulating the ink - unfortunately the big issue for me with this ink is the colour. There's a "flatness" to the colour when dry that just can't compare with my favourite dark red (Diamine Red Dragon). The other colours in the line are so vivid! (Well, except for Black Stump, but you need a black for gravitas...)

I agree! The ink, when fresh on the paper, is a rich and vibrant one, but sadly it dries to a flat and dull colour...

My experience with this ink as well. Actually, once the ink is flowing it is TOO wet. It makes a medium nib write like a broad. I haven't yet tried diluting the ink with water, to see if it helps with the hard starts and copious flow.

Useful review - the blot sample got me excited, but from the writing sample I don't think it's for me. Thank you.

Thanks for the review. Yes, it is very very wet, probably the first ink (I tried) that made my <M> Sailor nib look like real M.

... I believe in purple ink
