Buying Lamy Safari From Amazon India

Do sellers on amazon India sell counterfeit lamys? I bought my first Lamy from Aadhya sales Corp on amazon a few days back. The ink window and nib don't line up at it seems the barrel requires a 10 degree turn. However I have not faced any other problem with the pen. Moreover the gift box seems entirely different from what I see online. Plus the box says Lamy is marketed my William Penn in India however I got it for Rs1500 on amazon even though the store doesn't offer any discount. I know the issues sound trivial but they still bother me. Any help would be appreciated.

As a first time Lamy user it's very difficult for me to identify if my Lamy is counterfeit. Anybody from India who has had any experience buying Lamy from Amazon? And particularly this seller?

Hi, I have not purchased from amazon india but from flipkart and it was genuine. Correct me if i am wrong but you got it for 500 INR. That's a very good price for a safari and well sounds too good. I can be wrong but can you post some pics and link to the product. If its real you have got a smoking deal.

I am sorry the price was 1500 INR (edited my comment). I am having flow issues with my Lamy with Noodler black bulletproof ink. The ink is sticking to walls of the converter so strongly that I wont move even when I shake the pen. I have already rinsed the converter with detergent.

Also how we post pictures here ? I cant see an upload link.

Rs 1500 is a decent price. I bought it for rs 1860 . And the box I got my two safaris in was a black box with lamy written in silver letters also "design made in Germany". In my limited experience with them aadhya corp appears to be a reliable seller and most of their products are "prime" fulfilled.

Lamy might be marketed in India by William pens .they do that with many of the branded pens i guess..

Thing is original lamy we get the "made in Germany" tag in box

Ok then. 1500 seems alright. If its written sold by williampenn then most likely its legit as they are the official distributor. Noodlers ink have been known for flow problems. Try some other inks

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
