Best Kwz Ink ?

Recommended Posts

I want to order some KWZ ink and there's so much choice !

What are the most popular or best ?

IG and Standard range !

Which standard KWZ ink(preferably wet) would you get first if you didn't own any ?

I'm interested to see people's replies :)

I have a few, but if I had to pick one, it would be Brown Pink. It's a color unlike any I've seen from any other brand. Honey, I'm sure, will also get some votes. I'm also a big fan of Hunter Green, and all the Azures are gorgeous. Oh, and the two Maroon inks are also lovely. Basically, I don't think you can go wrong with any of Konrad's inks. But Brown Pink is awesome. :)

Agree with @gylyf that most are great. Brown Pink is a good choice. I also like Green Gold #2 and Maroon. Honey is raved over but I'm slightly underwhelmed by it.

Grapefruit, a wonderfully intense red-orange (although it might be more accurately described as an orange-y red) with a lovely silver sheen. On good paper with a wet pen, it has a thick, oleagenous appearance, almost like nail polish or Testor model paint; you can feel the ink if you run your finger over it, like embossing on a business card.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Which KWZ ink feathers the least? I hate inks that feather!

I have a bottle of IG Turquoise on it's way as week speak. I have quite high expectations...

Hunter Green is probably my favourite sketching ink at the moment and my recently acquired IG Blue #1 has had tons of use in letters, note taking and general scribbling.

Colour will dictate your purchase more than anything else. I've used a stack of KWZ inks and they have all been wonderful performers - IG or otherwise.

Good luck.

Let us know your decision . . . :)

I was a bit disappointed by both of the KWZ IG inks I tried. Blue #3 is more black than blue, and to my eyes Green Gold is basically a murky green (when dry). I was hoping they'd be good with dip pens, but they're not really. I can't get the hairlines and flex performance that I associate with full IGs or other FP-friendly IGs like Scabiosa.

Honey (non-IG) is nice, though. :)

So, I've purchased IG Turquoise, and I will probably end up purchasing Honey as well.

I'm excited, and very glad that the U.K. Now has a stockist of KWZ :)

Woah wondering why you don't have Grey Lux on your list! Definitely want to give that one a try!

Great choices BTW =)

My favorite KWZ inks, for now:

  • Maroon - currently my favorite overall ink, but that's a short-lived honor
  • IG Turquoise
  • Violet #3
  • Grapefruit - love the color, but have trouble finding occasions to use it (my problem with orange inks in general)
  • Old Gold

Grey Plum and Brown Pink look really intriguing, so they've been added to my wish list - thanks for the tip.

I'm a blue and blue-black writer. KZW Inks has an excellent range of colors, and the IG colors are excellent. I've been using the IGs in my test pens and have liked the results from these excellent inks.

Honey. I'm waiting on it to come back in stock at Vaness Pens. It's so beautiful

Everyone seems to say great things about Honey. I may have to pick some up....

IG Turquoise is just lovely !
