Your Thoughts On Purple

As far as Purple for business use, how about on Casual Fridays?

I'm obsessed with violet ink and have been toggling between pelikan violet and j. Herbin violette pensee. I use this particularly for meeting notes definitely appropriate for work. With a fine tip, it appears a deep purple with blue undertones (true violet) and with a little flexy, it gives way to a legible lavender at its lightest. The clean up is quick and easy. Not that great on copy paper but I think it was more the pen and nib than the ink. I just got J herbin violette pensee today and it's gorgeous. It goes on a rich juicy lavender /purple and dries a blueish purple. Imagine a rich bright lavender shaded with a blue tinge. I'm so hooked. But it is a little more playful to use on official work documents. I'll try to post some pics later if you'd like.

I meant to clarify that's referring to pelikan violet

What would happen if you put a drop (or two, or three) of Gentian Violet in an ink to shift the color toward purple? With its antifungal properties, it would serve as a SITB preventive, wouldn't it? I'm just not sure if drugstore-quality gentian violet is free of particulates that could clog a pen.

Which ink manufacturer will be the first to market with Purple Reign? (water resistant, of course).

 

Don't know how water resistant it is, but Purple Reign is one of Monteverde's new colors.

Private Reserve already gave us PURPLE HAZE, so it stands to reason we should have Purple "Reign!"
