I do enjoy clicking a ballpoint when I'm feeling a little manic, but there's certainly something elegant about the twist mechanism on a "nicer" bp.

I remember the Bic Atlantis came out my freshman year of high school. I bought a box and showed one to a friend saying, "The best thing about them is that they don't make that clicking noise." My friend bluntly responded. "The whole point of using click pens is that they make that clicking noise!" To each their own, I suppose.

At the grocery store, it's easier ckicking a jotter or Pelikan K400 than twisting a Montblanc 164 or Sonnet ballpoint for checking off the list.

Twist for me, find if clipped to my pocket (shirt or cargo pant) little to no chance of activating. Can you say more than one shirt or pant that has a blue blob

I like clickers because I can just turn my hand over, bang the pen into my clipboard, and then turn over to start writing again.

I dislike clickers because I wear them on my work lanyard, and they tend to click themselves, leading to a lot of pants with pen marks.

I've never really enjoyed the twist pens. I always forget they're twists and spend a second or two trying to click them open!

I'll chime in... In my school day and even for a while later - I never seen twist pen... We just did not have them back there - only clicks.

Or capped pens. I like capped pens - they always seem to be more serious instruments, even cheapo plastic pens...

And clicks - I usually prefer two button mechanism - similar to what AG7 Space pen has. Next preference is a top button and Jotter is the king here. Last preference would be a cap action, but I feel they are more simplistic compared to others :)

Click for ballpoints, and removable cap for rollerballs.

Have quite a few old jotters and one old school Paper Mate that I still like.

I like Lamy pens and like to twist. After some practise I can twist my heavy Studio with one hand and it's nice to feel how smooth that works. Waiting for a bit more inspiration or in a nervous mood, I grab one of my Picco's. There's happening quite a lot when you click them because it's also increasing in size in a very elegant way. It's a nice model for spinning too.

Click, I like the weight and elegance of many twist action pens, but some feel "over engineered".

Fine balance there...

I have an use examples of all three. I'm not really a fan of "twist".

"Click" is pretty convenient, but you can only use it for pens that won't dry out, so several of the pen types that I like are off limits for clickies.

I guess if I could only have one, I'd have to go with "capped", but in reality, most of my pens and the pens I use most are all clickies.

Twister for BP. I recently got an ST Dupont Defi ballpoint which activates with a twist of the lower barrel. It is very easy to do with one hand.
