Romillo Pens?

I have read great things about the Romillo pen company on this website

I was wondering if anyone has poersonal experience with Romillo pens? What is the best model, are they durable over time, and what is customer service like?

Also, does anyone know the approx. price for the Nervion #9. I have tried contacting Romillo, but haven't yet received a reply

Many thanks

Romillo will send you a catalogue with prices. I heard from them quickly, although I haven't achieved my grail pen -- my savings hit a setback. I have heard of people waiting for a time - if you don't hear within a day (and it's not a holiday in Spain) I'd send again. Sellers have junk filters too ---

Best of luck. From what I've seen, they're perfectly gorgeous.

If you highly value the fact they are handcrafted, including the nib, you can be happy with your purchase. Thr pens are not technically perfect, the materials are not the highest quality, and thr nibs I have use are too soft. But the pens are beautiful.

The "best" of anything is a personal choice so I cannot help you there. I had a model that I think was called an essential writer and it was too thin for me. I now have an EO. Both had the #9 nib.

I have one Romillo.

As said: They are far from perfect, but great pens nonetheless. You buy them not because of outstanding body material or craftsmanship (though they are still good), but for their huge nibs #9 with the lovely engraving - but I think they are a little bit too big to be really comfortable, I guess #7 nibs are more convenient (but hey, I've already got more than enough nibs of that size...)

I have a bit of a mixed experience. I had ordered a Narcea with some flex, but got an Essential with a stiff nib. Not so great, but as I had waited some time for a special serial number, I kept it.

Mailing was very nice with Alvarez Romillo, no complaints.

Would I get a Romillo again? Definitely, the nib is a unique experience. Would I get a second Romillo? I don't think so. What's the best model? It's the one you order from Romillo - he is open to all of your ideas and suggestions and wishes and really tries to do his best. After all you pay him to deliver what's best for you...

For the price: If I remember correctly the Nervion #9 goes for 1800-2000 without clip or ornaments.

Thanks for the great information guys

Unfortunately, I have now sent two emails to Romillo, and received no replies

@ mongrelnomad - thank you for the review. It seems that the nervion is unlike any other pen - unfortunately, I can't order it if they never reply to me!
