Upstate Ny Pen Shows

Does anybody know of any pen clubs, shows, etc., in central NY, or northern PA?

We're pretty much in the center of the state, the southern tier actually, and I haven't been able to find a thing.

I don't even know of any collectors nearby! It's all so frustrating :(

I used to live in northern PA. In fact, for four years the state line was right at the bottom of the driveway. There probably are no shows in that area because there are no large concentrations of people. That's also why my current state (North Dakota) has no pen shows. But, I would guess there are pen people around you. If I can find them in my little town, you can find them where you live.

Proud resident of the least visited state in the nation!

Thirty two years in Syracuse, moved in Jan. 2014....

No, there are no nearby pen shows. I know, since we go to 5 shows a year. Toronto was hit or miss, but crossing the border was too risky with my tools, so we did it just once.

Philly and LI are closest to you - about 5-6 hrs from Syracuse. DC is about 7 hrs, Columbus about 9 or 10.

I'm in Syracuse, NY, and just started getting into the fountain pen scene this year. I'd be interested in a CNY pen meet-up of some kind.

Also, I have to imagine there's some kind of pen scene (an annual show?) in NYC, about four hours drive?

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Unfortunately, besides the LI pen show, there are no other pen shows in NYC.

Big Apple Pen Club?

Yes, indeed, the Big Apple Pen Club meets in NYC once per month, the 2nd Thursday evening of the month. HOWEVER, this month's meeting is a special event that includes, for the very first time, a barbecue! Our July meeting will be this week Thursday! Please read through this thread for all the details:

If you would like to be added onto the email distribution for the monthly meetings, please send the OP a PM. Please feel free to pm me for info also.

The remnants of the Syracuse club are still up there. Two of us have moved, one who used to come in from Buffalo has passed away, but I can think of three, maybe 4 still in the area - and one who works at Ft Drum, or did. There are also a few folks from the Rochester area, which is no farther time wise than Ithaca. That's close enough that I used to go down to a mechanic in Newfield who is really good.

Oh, cool! Ithaca is such a great town. Love all of the waterfalls and hiking trails, and a good food scene, too!
