Papermate Inkjoy Gel Pens - Best Pens Ever

For anyone in the UK, looking for the Inkjoy Gel pens, hope you are having better luck than I am, no sign of them in any of the high street shops or Supermarkets, but plenty of the 'normal' Inkjoys, in many different packs and variations, (back to school deals.)

They are advertised on the back of the packs of Inkjoy ballpoints, but currently no-one actually has any for sale.

I guess that the big shop chains have a great deal of the 'old' stock to clear before re-ordering, so it's possible the online dealers will have them first.

I tried them and they sure are slick. The quick-drying ink is a big plus. Any idea how to remove a mark made by this pen from a silk tie?

I've been using my ink joy gels daily for a bit over a month now. They look good, are smooth as silk to write with, colors are great (I like the blues), and dry REALLY fast. BUT, and this is a big one for me, they seem to bleed through almost every paper that I've used them on, It's too bad as otherwise it's a very nice pen.

Most users, I'm thinking students here, will use whatever note paper they have on hand, and may be disappointed.

I must also mention that I use a lot of Staples notebook paper. It doesn't matter where the paper was made, there's bleed through.

The local Target store had several packs of these in 0.7 (3-pack of black, 3-pack of colors, 6-pack of colors). The refills feel just as smooth as Energel and dry roughly as fast, but the pen is more comfortable to write with than the Energel (I'm not a fan of squishy rubber grips).

I've discovered that the Energel refills work perfectly in the Inkjoy pens with zero modification required, so I'm going to use the more comfortable inkjoy pen body while I use up the Energel refills I have stashed away (bought a bunch for super cheap after the back to school rush). Once I'm through with all that, then maybe I'll consider buying more Inkjoy gels...or not...really I can't tell the difference when writing between the Energel refill and the inkjoy refill, so I'll probably just continue to use whatever I find for cheapest.

Seriously, if there's a difference in how the two refills write, I can't detect it.

Interesting to read this, the 'Energel' refills are very good to write with, and also would follow that the Uniball 207/307 refills will also fit into the Inkjoy gel bodies, making a good hybrid pen.

I can't try this yet, as in the UK I have not seen the Inkjoy gel pens for sale, plenty of the 'normal' Inkjoy ballpoints though.

Yes, I have confirmed that the inkjoy body works fine with Energel refills and Uniball 207 refills.

I'm very please to discover this because I don't actually like the Singo 207 pen bodies, nor do I like the squishy rubber grips of the Energel pen bodies. I've got a metal Energel, but the refill clicks audibly in it.

This Papermate body is an improvement over all of those.

Sorry, I made a mistake. The Ink Joy gels don't actually "bleed" through, but there is significant "show" through regardless of the paper I'm using. However, there are a lot of papers that I've yet to try.

My granddaughter is a lefty and loves them. I do too, I've just got to find the right paper.

Bic Velocity refills will also fit in these pen bodies. I don't like how the Bic's write, even in a better body, but maybe someone else does...

Anyways, I've got a bunch of Energels that I got for super cheap when the grocery store was clearing out school supplies, and now I've got a more comfortable pen body for them. I've very pleased with this situation.

In the UK, I'm still waiting to see these Inkjoy gel pens, nothing found in the major supermarkets, Staples, or any stationer's shops either. Maybe they are to be released for the Christmas spending rush, but no sign of them so far.

Odd thing is that they are shown on the back of all the 'normal' Inkjoy packs, as an advert I suppose.

There are all of the 'normal' inkjoy ranges (100,300,550,700) and 'Flair' in any shop that sells pens.

They are now sold in the supermarket here in regional Victoria, Australia. I noticed them 2 weeks ago and now they're "on sale". I bought some and agree the ink and flow are great however I find them uncomfortable to use. Perhaps because I haven't used anything other than a fountain pen or Kaweco Ink Roller in a long time?

I didn't notice any bleedthrough but I only use Daiso or TR notebooks and paper.

John Lewis stocks them in the stationery/gifts department; might depend on store availability

I work in an office supply store and they had cups of these individual pens sitting at the registers for customers to try when they first came out. Within a week, all the employees had bought a pack, including me. These are by far my favorite gel pens now. I use the black .5 and purple .7. Would be perfect if I could get the purple in .5. I've been using my Inkjoy gel pens every day for months now. There's wear (the rubber coming off in very tiny little pieces) from rubbing, etc. near the bottom of the pen where the tip comes out, and then wear at the top around the clicker button. But I'm pretty rough on my pens at work--I drop them, scrape them against stuff. So mileage may vary.

I have not seen the 0.5 model yet. When I was younger, I was all about fine points. Now I'm not so sure. I'd have to try one to decide if I prefer it to the .7 that I already have.

They only seem to sell the Inkjoy ballpoint pens online, not the gel pens. I'll have to check my local store.

Hi, Still no sign of these gel pens in any UK shops, I check in the main supermarkets, and the most likely stationers, but none seen so far. Would be interesting to know if any european countries have these for sale?

The 'normal' inkjoy pens, capped types or retractable are easy to find, seem to be very popular too.

My kids really like the triangular inkjoy ballpoints. I have a pack stashed away that I haven't opened yet.

0.5mm models are now available in my area. I picked up a pack of 3 (blue, red, black) and they're very nice to write with. I do like them better than the 0.7mm.

I have recently emailed Papermate (newellco) about these gel pens, asking if or when we might get them in the UK, so am waiting for the reply.
