Nakaya Repairs

Hello all,

Does anybody have any experience with sending their pens out to NAKAYA for repairs?

I have a 13mm piccolo that has a cracked cap lip... :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:

If so, what courier did you use to ship? How long did the repairs take? Was it expensive? Alternatives?

Thanks!

Hey Hari,

Nice to see you around these parts, you've been here almost as long as I have. I remember when you first started promoting Indian ebonite pens back in the 2010s.

Thanks for the link, look slike she had the same exact problem I have. I contacted Nakaya and it seems as if I'll have to ship it to them and then they'll take a look at it.

I am thinking about asking them to do a Kintsugi fix on it instead of the thread method.

Lends a bit of asymmetry to the pen, which I like in my art pieces.

What do you guys think?

I am sure the pen will be fine again in the end...

but only after a lot of money (huge amount, that´s for sure) and a lot of time (can´t even guess how many months).

That´s why I do not send my Nakayas back to them any more: once the warranty has expired, or the problem is not covered by warranty, a trusted, local expert does a perfect repair work as well, moreover without Customs: pens are only pens, not divine entities.

Oh no... I thought I could get it fixed for around 100...? Thats how much they charged for the moon cat fix in the other post. Have they raised their prices since then? How much do you think they will charge?

The string wrap fix might be a lot studier than a kintsugi fix. You are going to be capping and uncapping your pen, no?

Ahh but I really wanted to make this a one of a kind pen. I actually bought this pen cracked at a huge discount and planned on doing one of those cool fixes that Nakaya does. I just asked them for a estimate for the Kintsugi. Let's see how much they're going to quote me.
