Fountain Pen Friendly Steno Pads?

Does anyone know of any Pitman ruled steno pads available in the US that are made with fountain pen friendly paper? To complicate things Pitman shorthand is written with a flex nib pen. On the inexpensive steno pads I've tried ink spreads and feathers like crazy, even without flexing. I've tried a couple of pricier steno pads by Sparco and Business Source. They're a lot better, but still spread and feather a bit when flexing. I saw Ampad Gregg ruled steno pads recommended in another thread. I found some Pitman ruled Ampad pads on Amazon, and just ordered a couple. The marketplace seller I bought them from had a buy one get one free special. Does anyone know of any Pitman ruled steno pads that work well with flex nib pens? I wish Rhodia made Pitman ruled pads.

I have a top wire bound, like a Steno Notebook pad that is super fountain pen friendly. Works with all my pens. It's a Forest Choice FSC* C105204, from California Republic Stationers. Bad news is it's just a lined pad, no Center Vertical line like on my Office supply store steno pads. The size is off too, 5 1/8" wide and 8.5" tall. Line width is 1/4", I believe this link will take you to the pad I'm referencing:https://palominobrands.com/product/forestchoice-medium-hardcover-steno-pad/

I think we have a winner. The Ampad pads I ordered appear to work well. With the other pricier steno pads I had tried thick strokes looked pretty good when first written, but the ink would still spread/feather at least a little before the ink dried completely. With the Ampad pads I can't see any noticable spreading or feathering of the thick strokes after the ink dried. In case someone else comes looking for similar pads, the ones I bought were from this Amazon listing. Though the covers of the pads I received are slightly different. The ones I received are titled "Note-Perfect Steno Book." The Ampad reorder number in the lower right hand corner is #25-273 and the pad's UPC code is 074319252733.

I see I'm late to this party, but FWIW I've been using National Brand 36-746 Steno Notes from Dennison. My current volume has seen probably 15 or 20 pen and ink combinations (including stubs) and I've never experienced any hint of bleed or feathering. I've journaled that I should like them to be less ideal because I'd love to justify that French or Japanese stuff you all swear by. Will go the premium route for "archival" writing, but nothing else.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
