Waterman Stubs - Are They All As Awesome As The Carene?

If you search for "waterman stub" reviews on FPN, you get a ton of hits about how awesome and wonderful the stock stub nib on a Carene is. My question is, are the stock stub nibs for other Waterman pens (e.g., Charleston, Exception, etc.) just as awesome? How similar do they run compared to the Carene stub? I haven't really found any information about stubs for other Waterman pens, so any input is well-appreciated.

Current Wishlist:

Visconti, Visconti, and...more Visconti! (And some ST Duponts too). (Ok fine, getting on the Omas and Montblanc trains now too. Toot toot.) (And maybe on the Montegrappa one too, but only for the Miyas.)

I have one on the Charleston, which is good, but not as good as my 2 Carene stubs.

@RMN, can you elaborate on what you mean by "good, but not as good"? Is it the softness/smoothness, the line variation, etc.?

Can't compare with the Carene stub, but I have stubbish broads on a Lady Elsa and an Exclusive, and they're a delight to write with. Very smooth, bouncy, and wet. The line variation isn't quite as much as I'd expect from a true stub.

Too many pens, too little time!

I am very happy with a stub nib in a Le Man 200. But...I have tried to buy more 200's stubs and they have behaved erratically in terms of flow, even with several changes of feed. Strange situation. So I forgot about buying more of these, at least until I can try one extensively before purchasing, which is not easy.

Le Man 100 stub, only tested, seemed too wet for my taste (and for regular paper). Le Man 100 L nib (broad) also quite good, but less line variation as expected.

My next purchase might be a Carene stub, to check all the good comments I read here.

If it helps, I am also very happy with a oblique from an Exception slim, which I have fitted in a Le Man 200 pen.

Does the oblique on the exception slim offer any line variation?

Haven't had them in rotation for some time. So I can't say about line variation. They are stubs though, not italics. (I have a Visconti and a Delta that are called stubs by the factory which are real (cursive) italics, in my view)

All modern Waterman nibs are nails, so that's not it.

The Charleston nib was slightly less smooth. The Carenes are almost butter on glass.

Yes, some. Picture attached. I don't remember now whether it is an "oblique broad" or an "oblique medium".
