Dear all FPN members

This is my first pen review, and as the review will also posted to my fb group, so I have made two versions (English and Chinese). Regarding the Kanji in English version, it is Kung Hei Fat Choy and wish all have a healthy body! The reason why I pick this is Chinese New year is coming soon and we (Chinese) like to say these to bless the people we loved.

And finally, there is a colour differentiation due to the scanner quality, apologise about it ;(

Hope you all enjoy it and please provides any opinions that I can improve my pen reviews in the future!

Wow beautiful calligraphy! Thanks for the lovely review. I love that I can actually make out a few bits of what you're saying, especially the "wet as a squirt gun" bit:) as my Mandarin is the pits. Also did not realize Sailor is translated as Xiele or more appropriately as tselok in Cantonese, which is a beautiful translation for the Sailor name. Why did you say it would take 10 years to master the nib?

Very nice pen, and even better review. Thanks for posting the Chinese version too, nice to look how kanjis are look like written with fountain pen. Well I'm just a starter in Japanese, so my kanjis and kanas still look like mess, but you gave me inspiration.

The Chinese writing really brings the nib to life! Awesome pen.

Thanks! Well I would say this pen is made for calligraphy masters to use and that's why I am saying I probably need to take 10 years to leash "some true power" of this pen. In addition, this pen is best for writing Chinese "special calligraphy - 草書" however it takes a lot of time for me to learn it.

Yes Sailor Naginata Togi / Cross point / King Eagle are all god-tier pens for writing kanji :D

Nice review of a beautiful pen. Good to see the line variation at different angles of the nib.

Always interesting to see kanji as well.

This pen is on my "one day" list.

Thats my problem with the sailors: great pens, wonderful nibs, but a very small converter. Not very good writers.

Haha, that's exactly why I love Japanese pens. They have tiny ink capacity so it allows me to change ink frequently. Much as I love the fancy mechanism and capacity of vacuum fillers and piston pens, I find I will need about 3-6 months before I finish a fill.

Your brush script calligraphy is great, including how you write in English.

Thanks for the review, I thought KOP has a realo version but I might be wrong though, it should contain more ink than c/c.

That was a very limited edition version

I have found that among the cheaper pens and their cheaper converters it is sometimes more to the pen's performance enhancement to use the manufacturer's ink cartridge-once. Then I just syringe fill and reuse. The cartridges seem to hold a good bit.

Also, my tendency is towards M nibs and F nibs. Most F nibs remain in action for a decent amount of time. My more gushy wet fat M's go through ink at a much faster rate. I imagine calligraphy and large nib pens need lots of ink.

Nice pen, I bet if feels real good writing with that.

Thank you for wishes of healthy body.

Best wishes for you and your relationship with that pen. May you both blend well.

Be Happy, work at it. Namaste

Being the quiet owner of a similar speciality nib by Sailor, I must say that they are quite unimaginably good to write with - in a communist utopia fantasy, they would be the only pen!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
