Goldring Onyx

Can anyone help.

I've just bought an Goldring onyx pen and pencil in tortoiseshell on eBay.Im sure I paid too much but that's my problem.

The pen look like a smaller Pelikan 400 with a screw off part at the bottom that hides a piston screw.

The blurb said that they were made by Pelikan.

But I have my doubts.

Can anyone help with the history of these very nice pens.

It has a smallish 14 k nib.

I had not seen this thread before.

Goldring was produced in East Germany in the 50's and they were known for their copy of the Pelikan 400 Tortoiseshell. I have a couple with tortoiseshell only in the barrel and another one made in Aluminium known as "unbreakable"...

If you want to know more about the prices paid for them or eventually another information related to German pens, it is a good idea to visit Penbord.de and in the upper right write the name of the pen and will get into their archives... they certainly have something related to Goldring.

I hope this helps...

Thanks,

I've had a look unfortunately, there is only one listed but it provided more information than I already had.

Which was very little.
