Decided to ink up a pen I have not used in several years. This pen was handmade for me around 2009 from a California penmaker. Medium #6 nib; smooth, with good ink flow. Silver tone trim with a filigree look. Screw cap. Also screw cap for posting. Fairly nice balance posted. Clip is springy.

Today I am using:

LAMY Joy AL in 1.1 - inked with diamine Monaco red

TWSBI diamond 480al - fine nib - inked with diamine oxblood

Diplomat traveller - fine nib - inked with diamine teal

LAMY Nexx - medium nib - inked with diamine chopin

Pelikan M400 - EF nib - inked with diamine damson

I am a fan of colour coding my notes and find the mix of pens and ink make the notes easier/more fun to read.

@Helen: That first pen is one of the most stunning pens I've ever seen. What a fantastic design!

As for my pens:
Today was a day with little writing and much note-taking. Thus:

-Jinhao 159, x450 and 8812

-Noodler's Ahab
-That Online Academy from Hell. Patting my own back here, but I love that stub I ground the nib to. The pen went from something that didn't even write (Quality made in Germany, everyone) to one of my absolute favorites.

Helen, your hand made Californian pen is a stunner.

It has a beautiful deep shine to it, and the styling is gorgeous.

You really have some beautiful pens.

A new-to-me Waterman Hemisphere. Got it for a song on eBay. My guess was because the pictures were bad and there was little to no description of the pen. It was a gamble that paid off -- it's a beautiful pen and a very nice writer!

My fingers are always inky and I'm always looking for something new.  Interested in trading?  Contact me!

You can add an attachment via the forum: Go to the full editor, scroll below the text window, find the "Attached Files" section, click 'choose files' and then click 'attach this file'. Beware: you only have limited gallery space, and it's tiny.

Alternately, get an account on an image sharing website, like photobucket or that other thing everybody uses.

As for my pens: a Jinhao 8812 (Manufactum Night Blue) and a Pelikan Twist (Pelikan Royal Blue). It's cheap pen day at Guardy's, as it seems :P

The pen in rotation today is Wality 70 T. It is a small sized demonstrator pen which is manufactured by Airmail. It is inked with Krishna Forget Me Not Ink. The nib is custom grounded to Fine Cursive Italic.

Both inked with Quink BL-BK

Jinhao 8812 with Manufactum Nachtblau for my uni notes. Again.

Also my Lamy AL-Star with Standardgraph reed green, for headings, important words and definitions.

It's incredible how much those two inks clash. Should've taken a different brightly-inked pen.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
