Malcolm,

That Serenity and your nib photo are, well, 'serene' would be applicable. Stunning.

Helen,

Love that frosted transparent Nauka. Are you enjoying it?

Bob

Bob: Though I ordered the pen with a converter, I am enjoying it more as an ED. Required just a tad bit of nib tweaking. Really like the frosted look.

Type-O: It is a lovely pen, and the cost is very reasonable. Trust me it is not "outta" of your league :)

Nakaya Naka-ai in olive tamenuri with oblique broad nib by John Mottishaw (21st anniversary pen with vermeil monkey roll stopper), inked with Sailor Rikyu-cha.

This is the first time I've inked this pen. The Rikyu-cha is a great color for it, but it doesn't shade much, even on Tomoe paper.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Mannnnn.... my Lamy Vista flaked out on me, and I had to switch to a ballpoint to fill out the form.

The Esterbrook SJ I got from Ron Zorn (green with 9450 firm EF posting nib) sporting vintage Sheaffer Skrip Emerald Green did good. That's a pretty cool and reliable combination.

Blue Platinum Plaisir with 0.3 mm nib sporting Noodler's Bay State Blue and Violet Platinum Plaisir with 0.3 mm nib sporting Noodlers Kung Te Cheng. Those pen and ink combinations work well with courthouse forms printed on lowest-bidder paper. And the colors look great.

The clip for my Kaweco Skyline Sport arrived yesterday. The pen takes on a nicer look with the clip. Broad nib - inked with Lamy Dark Violet. The nib on this pen is pleasantly smooooth! :) fpn_1469488494__kawecosportclip5.jpg

Today’s quote is inspired by one of the most influential Martial Artist ever, the legend,BRUCE LEE.

The pen in rotation is Jinhao 165 which is self grounded to Medium Stub and it is inked with Pelikan Edelstein Amethyst.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
