The Fountain Pens Of World Leaders?

Normal, Russia is absolutaly unable to produce a single fountain pen, it is strongest in bombs and rockets!

Sad if this is true now. The Soviet Union produced some very interesting and serviceable fountain pens. Nothing fancy or premium, but quite decent, I think.

Same for watches: I think some of the Soviet-era aviators watches in particular are becoming very desirable now, aren't they?

As for Arafat's pen, could that be some sort of '70s Sheaffer with a non inlaid nib?

Interesting. Too bad I sense the cost is equal to a Fabergé egg. Are there any more Russian fountain pen makers?

The Prime Minister of Australia Malcolm Turnbull uses a fountain pen. But I have a hard time figuring out what pens it is.

I've heard that he uses a Montblanc 146, but from this photo it doesn't look like a Montblanc.

Does anyone know what it is?

Turnbull uses a Mont Blanc Friederich Schiller special - or did in his early days as PM; not seen much these days.

On the New York Times site this morning (in the US Briefing section) is a promotional photo for the Yasir Arafat Museum, showing some of Arafat's papers, his glasses, and a pen. Is it a sterling Sonnet, perhaps?

Hmmm, I doubt it, the cap's end is not right. Sonnets are sporting small plain black tassie and the clip isn't Parker. Parker clips have a 90° angle upon entering the cap.
