Rohrer & Klingner Le Efeublatt (Tsutaya Store)

Recommended Posts

I stumbled upon this limited edition of R&K ink for a Japanese store called Tsutaya. The ink is called Efeublatt. It seems to mean "ivy"? (someone can correct me on this)

The ink comes in a nice packaging. In terms of colour, it's a low-medium saturated yellow green that is slightly murky.

It means Ivy Leaf

I've been using this for a couple of months and I've just one word of warning....... Don't spill it!

Nice review, thanks! I find that it is [A] a nice green in general, and exactly the colour of that leaf, depending, as always also on the amount of light available.

That looks like a nice color -- but I'd be a bit worried about how legible it is, given how light it is.

Thanks for the review.

Do you like the colour of this ink? I'm not too sure from your comments. You were very dubious about it when I posted pics earlier in the month - I think you said it "wasn't very attractive".

Personally I really like it :-)

Lovely botanical green. It would be interesting compared with Herbin's 'Lierre Sauvage'. (Efeiblatt may, however, be domesticated.) My problem with deeply-colored inks is that, for everyday writing, I use a fine point pen and the ink often appears black, or close to it. Efeiblatt may be dark enough to read and light enough to show its color.

I thought it wasn't attractive enough before. But when I actually have it I enjoy it quite a lot! It's special enough to be part of my collection.

I like this color a lot. Impossible to buy, I suppose.

Now if you were an avid gardener you would be boasting how green fingered you are! :)

At $40/bottle, Ich glaube nicht. PR 'Avocado' is bluer, but close enough for botanical work.

Well, great. This happens when you spend too much time googling obscure ink colours! I've kind of fallen in love with it and now have to find a replacement!!! :wallbash:

I agree! It's not too light, not too brown, not too clean green. Very nice--would love for it to be part of the standard R&K line.

I’ve not found an exact replacement for this ink, although Kobe #19 is somewhat similar, dependent on pen/nib used.

However, if you’re still interested in this ink drop me a PM; I might be able to help.....

Thanks to @lapis  I now have this ink. What a lovely performing ink with the color of ivy leaves that makes it great for doodling.

@lgsoltek, as always, your reviews are inspirational.
