Buying Pens In Usa

HI,

I am from india and wanted to buy some fountain pens from the US online. I have a relative there who's gonna receive them.

My requirements for the pens are; 1.) long writing sessions,2.)light weight like lamy safari; 3.) good ink flow 4.) quick writing.

 

I used a pilot metro but its quite heavy for long and quick writing

 

PLease recommend me 5 to 6 pens whole under 150 - 160 dollars.

 

I have been doting on twsbi pens of late pls tell me whats the diff between ECO and 580 ( if its the price ill prefer the cheaper one)

also suggest their nib size fine or medium for english and hindi writing.

 

Also tell me who are the best SELLERS and where can i buy neon coral fine tip ,its not available on JETPENS AND GOULET and on amazon i read 3 negative reviews.

1. TWSBI ECO is lighter than 580 in terms of weight. So, ECO might be a better option for longer writing session. The ink capacity is fairly similar. In terms of design, 580 looks nice and more elegant compared to ECO.

 

2. I have a Kaweco AL-Sport. It's a fairly small pen and lightweight too. For me, it's not the best option for long writing session as the pen is fairly short, especially the section where it's usually being held in hand.

 

3. Pilot Kakuno is a very lightweight pen. It is very comfortable to hold and write for long writing sessions. The fine nib is very smooth too. It can fit the Con-70 converter, which is a big one that can hold a lot ink.

thanks very much for response could some1 tell me abt the breaking issues associated with ECO twsbi.

Pls throw some light on the nibs of twsbi as well.

I've been using my ECO for 3 months now and I haven't experienced cracking issues yet.

 

The nibs are pretty stiff. I prefer stiff nibs so it works well for me. The EF nib that I got in my ECO is kinda scratchy. But the EF nib in my 580 is pretty smooth. The 1.1 nib is very smooth. I took the 1.1 nib out of my TWSBI Mini and put it into ECO and it works well.

Forgot to mention that the reason I thought to suggest Franklin Christoph is because their pens are light but robust, so you can write for long periods without feeling like your arm will drop off. Most of their models work as eyedroppers, in fact my 65 is inked up as an eyedropper. The 65 is slimmer than their 66. If you have larger hands, then maybe the 65 is too narrow for you. The pens are made in the US, nibs from Germany and they have a wide range of custom grinds for an extra fee. (Mike Masuyama.)

thanks for the responses i have decided to go for the following pens:-

TWSBI ECO XF (2)

PILOT PRERA FINE

OHTO ROOK

 

inks Noodlers BSB, EmperorOf China purple, Libe esylium, HOB, Apache SS, FOX RED, OTTOMAN ROSE

pls tell me whether the above inks will perform well ith these pens

I had a terrible exp of using diamine cerise with metropolitan medium. So pls suggest the app nib size for pilots that suits majority of inks and tell me what to do with cerise shld i change to fine metro????

i think it was an overkill with inks ill reduce the number to 2 or 3. btw whats the shelf life ne users of 2 yr old ink
