This makes me SO HAPPY. I absolutely adore purple, but it bothers me that purple doesn't seem to be a terribly popular color option for pens (personally, I don't count the purple Al-Star as truly purple)...plus, I've all but given up my search for a lavender ink. So, this really made my night! Time will tell if the Safari I just bought from eBay is a fake, but in the meantime, I'll gladly wait to get this pen--which coincides perfectly with my promise to myself not to buy any more pens until April!

I think it will be April. I'm heading to the Fontoplumo site. I had excellent service there when I ordered my copper al star last year

It probably won't happen but a matte purple LAMY with a black clip and black nib would be awesome

Well, it looks like you were wrong

Not quite so, if you mean 1.1, 1.5 and 1.9: Lamy will provide them only in polished steel finish, no black once more!

Well folks, feast your eyes on this! I'm totally getting one :D

Yes, someone posted a link in another thread to this. And the tip over the edge for me was the side-by-side photo with a purple Al-Star (which I had considered getting at one point). But the Dark Lilac just leaves it in the dust.... Absolutely gorgeous.

I wasn't going to get any more Lamy Safaris, but that purple is a really nice colour. It's such a shame that the inks aren't sold in the UK in bottles, because if it's the same colour as the pen then it should be gorgeous - and I don't buy cartridges.

Luckily for me, Lamy seems to always release their new models in April, which happens to be the same month as my birthday. I always have something to ask for from my wife...

The weekly Goulet email I got today said it will be available in April.

I have a problem with Safari's - I just keep buying more and the justification is that I use them at work and need a few for various widths and ink colours.

On the matter of this Lilac one - it does look lovely in the pictures. I ordered 4 but they will all end up as gifts, so I need a couple more for my "collection".

Try the Lamy carts - they are pretty good... I order the occasional box in the existing purple for my gf because we don't get that colour in a bottle here in Canada (or I have never seen it), plus she finds it convenient for university where swapping them in class is relatively mess free. It is quite a nice colour - so curious how the LE version will compare? I am guessing less magenta, but that's just a guess... Plus they are a fraction of the price in Europe compared to here...

I generally just dislike paying the massively higher price per ml for ink in carts than in bottle. But having said that, a couple of vendors in the UK offer the LE Safari colours in a package with a box of carts included, so I might make an exception this time and go for that. After all, the pens themselves are very cheap considering how much I like them - I usually have two or three of them with diffrent colours in my pocket whenever I'm out and about.

And yes, I'm hoping the LE purple ink will be more of a dusky purple than anything brighter, and I'd love it if that's how it turns out.

Hmmm... out of stock. Well, they'll send me an e-mail when it's available.

Well, I've read on several threads that it won't be available till April.

Hope that Lamy has made a lot of these, given all the buzz about them....

I would probably pre-order just so that you are certain you will have one. I remember being in a couple of stores when Copper-Orange came out and was looking for something else (I tend to buy my Lamy's out of Europe) and both times there were people buying multiples of the Orange. The amount of chatter and excitement leading up to this one almost makes me guess it will sell out soon after it comes out as a lot of retailers are selling them on a pre-order basis. All the best!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
