Platinum Izumo

Hi Hari. My source was a Platinum representative that seems to be quite reliable. Who is your source?

Hi katanankes, my source of information is from owning both body type examples of the Izumo, the Platinum website both in Japanese and in English and the Nakaya website. The information about a Plastic body Izumo does not exist in the public domain except your assertion.

Pls ask your source to show you the Plastic body Izumo and pls show it to us too when he shows it to you, it will only aid the knowledge of this forum.

Thanks!

there is no Izumo which is offered with a plastic body. The bodies are either Ebonite or "Bombay Black wood".

Whereas there were some Nakays in the past which were offered with a plastic body with Urushi coated over it. I hope this helps.

Hi Hari

between the Urushi ones and the Bombay Black wood - which one is the glossier one. I know that the Bombay Black wood comes in a Glossy. but my fear is that over a period of time the gloss would fade away.

Also since you have both of them do they weigh around the same?

Finally how broad is a broad on an Izumo? I normally see mostly F nibs. If i were to compare a B on a MB and a B on an Izumo would they be arounf the same?

Quite different.

The "B" on the Montblanc will be stubish with line variation while the "B" on the Izumo is rounded with very little line variation.

Overall widths are similar.
