Problems With A New Stresemann

The difference is between a FP sold as Pelikan M805F Stresemann and the same sold as Pelikan M805F! I suppose that, to be able to sell a FP 150 euros more than the average M805, Pelikan is generally happy to add Stresemann to the description! And I suppose that Pelikan has not a different FP M805 F in black/anthracite with grey stripes!

The only Pelikan M805 black/anthracite with gray stripes is the Stresemann. The presentation is a different matter. I believe Pelikan delivers the pens and the boxes separately. Is up to the vendor to put the pens in a different box from the paper tube you mention. Part of the price you pay is for the luxury box. Not only Pelikan do that. I bought a Faber-Castell Ondoro which arrived in a paper box. The price was really good and I already have lots of boxes.

Thank you! The first time I complained, on Pelikan's site, for the poor paper tube in which I had received my FP (M600), they sent me , as a gift, the famous round and big luxury box!

Thank you, Andreas, for that precise statement! My attitude was the result of getting a FP writing like a thick M, getting a pen looking like a Stresemann without bearing the name, and overall, getting a pen of 300 euros sent in a ridiculous paper tube!

Dear Sergio, the problem is that the Stresemann is not a €300 pen, but a €470 one. So, some vendors that try to provide big savings for us consumers have to cut costs somewhere to still make a profit. One well known way to cut the costs is to not put the pens in the presentation box, instead delivering them in the little cardboard box that they receive the pens from the makers (and this is not restricted to Pelikan).

As for the name, as has been said, there is no Stresemann engraved in the pen. From what you say here and in the other thread, it seems to me that what happened is simply that Amazon.de forgot to add the word Stresemann in their webpage, also a common thing to happen and, as far as I can see, without any consequence.

What seems to have confused us all is that you are complaining about the pen coming in a cardboard box, when there clearly was an option if you care (like me) about having the presentation box: pay more at a different seller (there are several reviews at Amazon.de which say that many of their pens come in the little cardboard boxes). That is what I do, because I like to have the boxes.

Also, the way you put things in your first post seemed to raise suspicions about a well respected seller based on what was perceived as a misunderstanding.

Finally, as for the pen writing broader than some other makers, it's a well known fact that Pelikans are like that (and I suspect this is, in fact, enjoyed by many of us hard core Pelikan fans). If you bought the pen less than a month ago, you have the option to change the nib for free and get an EF. Otherwise, it can be somewhat controlled by using a dry ink (like Pelikan 4001) and good paper.

I hope you come to enjoy your Stresemann. It is, in my opinion, a lovely pen (by the way I bought mine in F and I wish I had chosen a B :) ).

Thank you so much, Lam 1, for all your clear explanation! By the way, I have been used to buy mainly japanese EFs ,and the other Pelikans I have are also EFs ( I only chose this one in F because of the exceptional price) and now I am rather pleased to have a Stresemann bought with a good deal!
