Lamy Imporium - Black/gold

I went to my local pen shop and they said that unfortunately there aren't official Lamy spare parts for the imporium yet since it's so new.

So I will have to wait a bit longer to upgrade my safari with the lovely imporium nib.

When I bought a 2nd nib for my Persona, Lamy supplied it as whole lower screw in section.

I could not just get the nib. I now have two complete lower sections, and I just screw them on and off, just as when I fill the convertor with ink.

Is it possible to take the nib off, and how much did you pay for it?

I have had this pen for a long time, bought mid 90's.

I think I purchased the nib section from Lamy USA in early 2000's for about $150~$175? Not sure.

I have never tried to separate the nib from the section, and frankly, never will.

I have no desire to do so.

My arrangement for the Persona works great.

Great looking pen you got there!

Was actually very excited that they were going to re-release the Persona...until I found out the price, and almost no update in technical or design components. (how do they justify the price hike then?) I was hoping for at least a piston filler maybe.

anyway, I hope you enjoy the pen! It's a great looker that's for sure!

side note: I like the trim combo you chose the best ;)

I just picked one up on sale and it really is an interesting pen. Heavier and 'girthier' than I expected but in a great way. It's very well done and while I think Lamy has overpriced it in the US I'm in complete agreement with this great review. Easily one of the most interesting modern pens I've come across.

I agree that it was larger and heavier than I was expecting but I think it is a good thing for me and my hands at lwast.

It's definitely selling well too - just ordered the black on black model from Joy at Pen Boutique and it's back ordered by a few weeks.

No kidding! I wasn't sure at the price that it was going for that it would be so popular but I'm just glad I snagged one!

Went to Houston last Wednesday to see my daughter, do some shopping and visit with the Dromgoole brothers at the shop. I was determined NOT to buy a pen

until Larry laid out the three different expressions of this bad boy!!! I immediately lost all resolve and left with the black/gold one in F nib. It was the first one sold in Houston. Pricey but nice.

Haha that's great, I also found the black/gold one to be the coolest looking. Congrats!

Congratulations! Hope you're enjoying it - you influenced me to change my order for the black-black to the black-gold, not usually a fan of gold but it really does look better on this one.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
