I can see this Boucheron fetching a few bob.

Probably

Interesting to see that the nib description omits the size.

But perhaps with this kind of pen, writing is forbidden??

The seller says 'even not been dipped in ink'. This, to me, implies unused yet goes on to say 'all works as it should'

Ahh the advantage (luck) of foresight.

Yes, I noted that too....

I just received back my Edson Black Diamond that went in for a nib exchange to a stub.

Inked it with MB Blue Hour and it writes great! What a lovely nib.

Now I'm interested in a Carene with a stub too!

I got Black Diamond on Amazon UK for 386 pounds. Maybe not the best but still a good deal.

btw does anyone know, is it normal for the feed cover to have a lot of brown shellac like sealant on edges? I was a bit disappointed they did not clean it properly. Can I clean it in 1/10 ammonia solution?

Inked: Sailor King Pro Gear, Sailor Nagasawa Proske, Sailor 1911 Standard, Parker Sonnet Chiselled Carbon, Parker 51, Pilot Custom Heritage 92, Platinum Preppy

That Emerald is £580. A boxed Ruby sold in the USA today for <US$580, a fair bit less. I noticed the latter lacked the ruby converter they are supposed to have? The seller seemed keen to imply it was all original.

I observed it because I was an underbidder, just in case I could chance to pick up a bargain My offer was surprisingly close in dollar terms though with two other people more interested. Not collecting Edsons, I am content with that.

It is fairly normal for the £ = $ or visa versa on many product prices.

It's my listing. Btw $580 for the boxed Ruby was a great deal.

I think £580 is very optimistic. £450/£500 is probably (if mint boxed with all the goodies) more realistic.

  • 3 months later...

Two recent ebay sales have seen a Sapphire and a Ruby sell for over £500.

They're on my watch list too. Can't believe an used (mint) Sapphire gone for over £600.

Did you get to know why Waterman has discontinued the Edson?

It wouldn't make me wonder if it is not more profitable to produce this pen but I'd prefer to hear something else.

Did they always come with the self colored converter? I've bought some cobalt blue recently that just had standard converters.

As far as I know yes, you should have had a Blue one. PS the colour is Sapphire Blue.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
