Aaugh, I did it! I ordered what should be a Pluminix in red from amazon France. Certainly paid up with the shipping. I knew of Pluminix for awhile, but never cared enough to check it out. Pity. I do hope the one I ordered is the Pluminix as the other pens it was shown with are Plumix pens.

The pen arrived today, and it is the Pluminix. It’s so cute! It’s close to the size of a TWSBI Diamond Mini.

It has the CM nib too, so it’s practically perfect. I really like it, and am happy a post here made me go looking.  It takes the short international cartridge which is unusual for Pilot, but maybe makes the pen more versatile for inks. But it is a small pen.

This photo has the Pluminix beside a Plumix to show the size difference.

If this post makes anyone want one of these, hurry! They are discontinued models unfortunately.

And you can swap the CM nibs into most of the less expensive Pilot Pens (like the Prera, 78G, etc.) and have a simple cursive italic calligraphy pen.

I got an Enzo set of 3 Plumix pens, and swapped their calligraphy nibs onto Preras. I like the Pluminix enough that it might will keep the nib, and get used.

@boilermaker1975,gorgeous pen! I am looking at the blue black version now because of you!

@Misfit, the little Pluminix is a favorite! I bought mine because I encountered one at a Pelikan Hub in 2022. I like it better than the longer version-  I ended up swapping out the nib and putting it into my Lightive (explorer).

@Karmachanic, I don’t know what version of the WS 698 you have, but I have the gold nib and it’s such a nice soft fine, it’s been in rotation since last July. If you like fine nibs, I highly recommend it.

Top 5 (in no particular order) of 20 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144 IB, FWP Edwards Gardens

MontBlanc 310s F, mystery grey ink left in converter

Sheaffer Jr. Balance ebonized pearl F, Skrip Black

Pelikan M400 Blue striped OM, Troublemaker Abalone

Platinum PKB 2000, Platinum Cyclamen Pink

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

First 2018 demonstrator iteration. Steel nib, which I swapped out for the Pilot F italic. A review of the gold nib you mention.

Add lightness and simplicate.

An ambiguous pen, but it was a very good offer and I did not refuse

@Pen Ffynnon I too love those black nibs, especially with this line of pens.

@penquincollector  I actually have all three, blue black, midnight purple, and black cherry. I can't get photos to do them justice, but here is the black cherry,

I really like this pen, thanks for sharing the photo with us! Some pens are really difficult to photograph, and it’s usually the way that the light bounces off of them that catches our eye in the first place that makes it so.
