@USG

I have finally gotten around to play a little bit with the A. Morton:

Wow! That's a jewel.

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

Wancher Dream Pen in marble-brown ebonite. Medium steel nib from JoWo.

Nice box, large but not heavy pen with simple design. Section is little bit thin for my taste. Not bad, but nothing special.

That´s simple Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue, lit with a flashlight because it was already too dark to get nice pictures where you could see the shading. 😄

Wyvern 690 marking.jpg

The 690 certainly wasn't a top-of-the-line model, but it provided its owner/s with good, reliable pen with a quality nib.  This particular pen has a fine nib that produces a nice line.  It's in good condition while showing the effects of the service it provided its owner/s.  It didn't cost me a packet (less than a Lamy Safari), so I'm happy with it.

Last impulse purchase was a Platinum Preppy (never had one before).  I needed some items ASAP today so the lazy part of me went to amazon vs driving around town on Sunday.  I was a few $$ short of free, same day delivery.  So I had to either pay shipping or add something eligible to the cart.  The cheapo Preppy fit the bill.

Does anyone else round out an order with FP related items to meeting a shipping threshold?

A Speedball Auto Feed set and a three-pen Sheaffer No Nonsense calligraphy set (sold as a single lot on ebay). I'm hoping the Speedball still works, but if not then I can always use a few more No Nonsenses.

Also a wheat-and-lavender heat pad to use as a wrist support when typing. Time to accept that I'm getting old.

No, it isn't square. The logo is a wyvern.

Well, TECHNICALLY (the heraldry geek in me) thinks of wyverns as dragons with only two legs -- in the front -- and then the larger tail in the back, behind the wings (like on the logo for the pen).  Whereas dragons have four legs, and a smaller tail.

A new old stock waterman carene in purple that I found in a random stationery shop. The colour on it faded just right where it looks great!

I decided to go to a random stationery shop near where I was that was out of the way. Lo and behold, I found a Waterman Carene (Which I wanted for that inlaid nib for so long) in my favourite colour (purple) that looked even better at a discounted price. I didn't even know that carenes came in purple before seeing it

It cost me the equivalent of around $136.

That shop had a really weird and nostalgic feel even though I have never been to it. It gave me some weird vibes.

unfortunately, there is some chipping on it but it was at a good price

I was just thinking I don’t have any pens in the mail or impulse purchases. Then I thought idiot, you will have some for your birthday this month. So I thought I’d find the little bag of nibs that held three 1.1mm stub nibs I bought. Two of the three are on pens.  It wasn’t where I thought it would be. I wanted to put one on the new Hongdian maple leaves pen I’ve been saving for Autumn, which starts on the 23rd. That gives time to find those nibs.

Well, I looked at one of the pens with the stub nibs I bought. It is a #5 nib. The Hongdian has a #6 nib. So I found the Anderson Pens 1.1mm stub nib that hasn’t been used, and put it on the Hongdian. It’s silver tone, but that’s ok.

Does tossing a pen into the order I made in early July from Cult Pens count?   (The order was mostly inks....)

Turned out that with the exchange rate between dollars and pounds, I would have probably made the threshold for free shipping without that al-Star LE, but, well....

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
