I'm curious about this one, I've been put off by that giant step to the section, especially since I usually hold pens fairly far back from the nib. Has it caused you any problems?

I thought about that too, but it feels quite comfortable. I have my first two fingers on the section (which is quite long) and my thumb resting on the knurled part. The flex nib is amazing!

What is your "self-extended ink cartridge?" How did you get it to hold 1.1 mL of ink? My Kaweco Sports only take the short international cartridge which tops out at about 0.8 to 0.85 mL. Having them hold more ink would be great.

Cutting a Pelikan long international cartridge and dipping it in hot melt glue. Another method would be cutting the short cartridge in the middle and using heat shrink cable joints or isolating sleeves for extension. I prefer the first method.

Well I'm finally getting a Jinhao 82. A grey one with gold trim and sparklies in the resin. The final push was this box the store has... had to order one to see if they're as good as they look.

Will work for pens...

Frank's nib technician calls himself a "nib whisperer." The CI grinds he has done for me are very close to a formal italic in that they have amazing thick/thin line differentiation. They write very smoothly for me.

Let us know what you think of the pen and of the nib!

Happy writing!

The Gioia Alleria arrived today, quicker than expected, and it's great! And the nib work by Bruce at Fontoplumo is simply perfect!

Wonderful! Now, to get the full benefit of that perfect nib, you need to learn Chancery Cursive handwriting! 😉

Enjoy your new pen!

If that's anything like the writing Bruce used for the note he sent with it, I will definitely have to. I hadn't even unboxed the pen yet and I was already seriously impressed with the nib! Time to up my handwriting game for sure.

It's the Northern Pen show two weeks tomorrow.  I'll be very disappointed if I come home without making an impulsive purchase.

I spotted a Cross Townsend in Lapis Lazuli for a relatively good price on a reputable vendor’s website last week and made the grab. It’s virtually mint, and the medium nib is quite stub like, much to my delight.

I keep telling myself I should get one of those some day.  I've sold a couple that I got in collections, but haven't held on to any yet.

I got an amazing deal on a very limited production pen, which should arrive in a few days. I'm excited but I'll wait until I have it in hand and can post pics before saying what it is.

I was minding my own business... then I read this thread.

Then I decided to go to the Bay of Evil and find a used one, but I bid on a Botanical and picked it up for $50.  I was pretty darn thrilled.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Sweet!  I used to want one of those, but couldn’t choose which I liked best.

Nice! I was looking for one of those when I bought the Wanderlust Malta.

Just adding a reminder that if your impulse buy is blue or green, there are threads that would love pictures!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
