Hello dear FPN family

Though I have benefitted from this forum for months, i did not post anything.

I'd like to thank you all for those brilliant pen,ink and paper reviews. You guys work as meticulous as I'd like to see in your reviews.

Currently I have these pens&nibs in the order of ascending price:

-Jinhao (??? - something cheap :D )

-Lamy Safari Charcoal (steel M - steel F - steel EF - steel 1.1 - 14k OM)

-Woerther Profil Black (steel M)

-Pilot Cavalier Duo-Body Green Black (steel F)

-Kaweco Art Sport Amethyst (steel F - steel EF- steel Black PVD EF - steel 1.1 - steel 1.5 )

-Kaweco Special (same with upper)

-Tombow Zoom 101 (steel F, I guess it is aluminum)

-Parker Sonnet Chrome (18k EF)

-Parker Sonnet Matte Black (18k M stock reverse oblique)

-Parker Sonnet Grey-Black patterned (18k stock Italic)

-Pelikan M101 N Lizard (14k F)

-Pelikan M605 Marine Blue (14k EF)

-Pilot Custom 845 Black Urushi (18k F)

-Pelikan M420 Sterling (18k F)

-Pelikan M425 Sterling (18k F)

-Pelikan M805 Blue-Black stripped (18k EF)

-Namiki Nippon Art Origami Penguin (14k F)

And about 80 bottles of different brands and colours of ink accompany to these pens. I almost have all Iroshizuku and Diamine line.
Of course paper is vital, thats why I have a huge stock of Clairefontaine, Rhoda, Leuchtturm, Maruman, Apica, G. Lalo, Original Crown Mill papers at my library.
I am obsessively worshipping stationery items. Though I am a aerospace engineer, everyday I use fountain pen for writing notes, making calculations, reviewing formulas, etc..
I think this collection will get bigger with the help of you :)
I love you all: great communicating helpful people, glad to be here.

Welcome !

It is wonderful to see people taking advantage of the variety of changeable nibs for the LAMY pens.

Auf freiem Grund mit freiem Volke stehn.
Zum Augenblicke dürft ich sagen:
Verweile doch, du bist so schön !

I'm going to steal a bit of thunder from Sasha...What pen is your favorite? The one you use everyday? Any favorite inks? Right now my favorite is the Pilot Vanishing Point I just got, I've got some Tsuki-yo in it now.

So space and time are linked together. As we are looking across space, we are looking back in time. The further and further away those stars are the further back in time you are looking. Now you are seeing a star that is say six thousand years ago. Imagine somebody at that star looking at us They would be seeing us as we were six thousand years ago. My favourite is Pelikan M420 F, it is my daily pen, and my daily ink is Shin-Kai, and daily paper is Rhodia Premium A4+ in Atoma A4 notebook.

Other than that, favourite blue is Diamine Blue Velvet, favourite red is Diamine Red Dragon, favourite green is Graf von Faber Castell Moss Green, favourite purple is Pelikan Edelstein Amethyst, favourite grey if of course Iroshizuku Fuyu-Syogun.

Absolutely don't like black inks: too boring I think..

Welcome. Impressive collection. Is your daily writing substantial? I'm interested in whether your choice of paper is working out long term.

I've used cloth-bound Clairfontaine 192 page A4's for years, now, for daily note taking, partly because the binding and the number of pages, and also I need a proper archive of past work.

Currently using Diamine Teal ink.

Merhaba efendim. Welcome to FPN. We go to Istanbul this October and are on the prowl for a Srikss 50th anniversary pen. Have you tried them? We picked up a couple of them last year and they write very well. We also found a delightful Oberthur as well and might try to locate more of them. Good hunting. (formerly of Cankaya Universitesi)

I've been looking at the Shin-Kai for awhile, right now I mostly use Tsuki-Yo, I have a bottle of Noodler's Heart of Darkness, for those rare times only black will do. I've also heard good things about Red Dragon, what do you like best about it? My red is currently Shaeffer's Skrip Red.

Well, my daily paper is Rhodia R premium paper -probably the best paper on Earth- However, since I use them in Atoma refillable notebooks by punching their sides with Atoma paper puncher, the vertical side of the paper wear off in time since I put them in/out to/from notebook during daily usage. Sooo, although it is a 90 gr/m^2 paper, which is much heavier from most of the Japanese paper, I still think that maybe a 100 or even better 120 gr paper shall be used in such binding systems to get better results for archival purposes. So, you see, using such a customizable system is kind of a trade-off.

First of all let me note that I HATE BROWN COLOURED INKs. Brown is a good colour in daily life due to the evocation of chocolate, coffee, or fresh soil, or lovely leather products, but I absolutely hate brown tones in writing. On the paper, brown seems boring, or seems like old man's choice of ink colour.

Diamine Red Dragon is the darkest, most distinct red, I may say it is the most reddish red. I mostly like dark reds, I kind of dislike cheerful light reds like Poppy Red of Diamine. By the way, there are many darker reds than Red Dragon, but they are in the vicinity of light brown tones. Thats why I love Red Dragon. It is the darkest and reddish red that IS NOT EVOCATE ANY LITTLE BIT OF BROWN TONES. On the other hand, if we consider Diamine Cult Pens Deep Dark Red: a lovely colour, a much darker red than Red Dragon, but in my opinion a too brown tone to be a real red.

Welcome! Have you used Iroshizuku Syo-Ro? I'm thinking about getting some.

Yes I have a bottle of Syo-Ro, it is an amazing colour, a very weird dark green. If you have no willing to use your daily fountain pen for signing documents, you can easily make Syo-Ro your daily ink. (Because you know black, blue, black-blue, navy colours have to be used in signatures for any officiality.)
