Fantastic painting!

May I ask what is the pen shown on your Avatar?

C.

It is a close-up of Pilot 95th Anniversary Fountain Pen - Rising Dragon. You can view other shots of this pen on my flickr page -> https://www.flickr.c.../133687118@N04/

Thanks for the link. (hope we'll become friends on Flickr)

What a pen!

What is the base of this, I mean which model? I have not another Pilot/Namiki like this in mind...

Christof

The name of the artist was signed in gold paint. It does not have the red signature like Namiki fountain pens. I will post a photo of the artist name on the pen later in the week.

I will keep it mint since I have a regular M1000 that is being used. So no need to think too hard about it. Phew. :)

Too bad that such a lovely pen won't be used as a pen. But honestly, i'm quite sure i won't ink it if i have one :)

Thanks for adding me to your flickr account, Christof. The base of the Pilot 95th Anniversary Fountain Pen - Rising Dragon is based on the vest design (flat top and without clip) of the Pilot/Namiki emperor size. You can see the approximate comparison of the size of the emperor size against other fountain pens below.

I guess the regular M1000 performs as well as the Koi pen. Better to appreciate its art work for the time being. Haha.

Not a fan a Pelikan maki-e (but a fan of Pelikan and maki-e FP's). However, this FP is amazingly beautiful. A gem. Are the signature of the artist and his red seal on the FP?

Sorry for taking so long to upload the photo of signature of the artist on the pen as promised. Here it is. Only golden writing of the artist name. Not sure why they don't put the red seal like some of the maki-e artists. Somehow the red seal looks more impressive to me.
