The Super Duper Co-Razy Parker Penman Sapphire - Blue - Comparisons Psp

I think you are very close.

The example of actual pps you've done several posts back just has a slightly more mysterious "brightness" somehow.

Unfortunately it's not like a water color where a person could add white.

What you done, It's very good work.

Amber, it's so close you could sell it. I'd buy a 55 gallon drum of it.

Amber, does the latest mix have less LCR than NNT? It does look pretty close. I got my sheet yesterday along with the bottle of FPN ink I ordered. Thank you! I'm off tomorrow morning to the DC show and will do my comparisons when I get back.

Did you mail it just recently? I haven't received anything. I'll have to come up with some blues that haven't already been tried.

I think I put it in with an FPN order.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I'm glad you got it!

The way I mixed this was a little hit and miss. I had an M200 about 1/2 full with Navajo Turquoise. I added what looked like an equal amount of LCR. If you want it a little bluer (less purple) add less LCR.

I received my letter from Amberlea today, and here's my contribution:

Neither of the inks are a good match, but it was fun though. :) Tried to adjust the scan to match my eyes, but if Amber can do it better, please go ahead.

Returned the letter with a few extras, hope she likes them.

Thank you. Those are both seriously dark colors! If your mix of them is close to the original it must have been significantly darker than Parker Quink blue, but in my comparison I thought PQB was dark enough (but too purple?) Certainly makes me rethink some mix ideas...

I only have one question with Amber's Faux Penman Sapphire Mix (hereinafter called AFPSM) - the original PPS behaves well on poorer quality papers, bleeding through less than my FPS#9. How does AFPSM compare with PPS on poorer quality paper?

Oh, and is there any sheeny?

Apart from that, the colour appears a dead ringer.

I plan to pick up a bottle of NNT in DC (I already have LCR) and will try some different proportions when I get back. Most of the other inks that I could try have already been submitted, but there may be one or two that haven't been seen.

Well, I tried it on TR paper, no sheen. Great shading, no sheen.

Those swatches are darker than the ink is in person. I couldn't link the Goulet swatches so I used the ones from Anderson. I'll see if I have a recent sample.

Oh, the formal name is NIS as in Noodler's Inkyman Sapphire.

It should be mentioned that Noodler's La Couleur Royale sheens very nicely.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
